Matt is a good name to pick if you want your kid to be a NFL QB. Bad name to pick if you want him to ever win a Superbowl.
Wow, what a horribly weak explanation by Suh. He out did my outrageously low expectations.

Maybe a CP poster told him to use it on twitter, and he decided to try it out?

He should have at least made it believable if he was going to blatantly lie. Lions have so many amazing players that are fun watching (especially the best reciever in the NFL in Johnson)......and then they have this big dumb idiot. What a dirty player.

"This big dumb idiot" who is likely the best DT in the league and at worst in the top 3.
He is not close to dirty, just flat out awesome and a joy to watch week after week.
Hopefully he continues his hard-nosed play up and doesn't allow crap like this ejection to slow him down.

Me calling him an idiot has nothing to do with his football ability. He is a great player and I never said he was not. But he is dirty and there is no excuse for what he did today. I don't know how you can defend someone trying to purposely injure a player. For that, he is an idiot. The Lions are a fun team to watch and guys like Stafford and Johnson are great. Nothing against the team, just hate that type of play no matter who does it.

Yep...the big dumb idiot that just dug his hole with Goodell even deeper than it was by refusing to apologize to Dietrich-Smith and then blatently lied about what happened instead of manning up and admitting he lost his cool for a minute.
he may now get the rest of the season.
Oh, and the "man upstairs knows what happened" comment was deplorable.

If you mean just this year, fair enough. But over the past 6 years since he got to N.O., I don't think Brees has had any better receivers than Brady has. He's just so deadly accurate that he makes them look a lot better. Actually until '09, I'd say pass catchers were one of the weakest spots on the Saints roster, to the point where in '07 aging Pats castoff David Patten signed in N.O. and instantly became the #2 WR, which he held onto for a full 2 seasons. Actually I'd argue from 06-09 Brady had the much better pass catchers than Brees.
Colston's the real deal, as is Graham. But outside of that I don't think our WR's are anything special. Meachem's pretty much a bust considering he was a 1st round pick, he's a speedy deep threat who can haul in some deep balls, but he'll drop just as much as he catches and runs the wrong route constantly, not a smart player. Henderson's the same but even worse, he'll catch a 65yd TD but will only get open 2-3 times a game and has a career case of the dropsies. Lance Moore is a beauty, sticky hands and very athletic. But he's short, and I'd call him more of a Welker'ish type player.
Actually Graham aside, I'd say our WR core is pretty much on par with what Brady had during the Super Bowl years; a deep, consistent, decent but not great group like they had with Brown, Branch, Patten & Givens. Its a testament to how good Brees is. Agreed though that its pretty ridiculous with what Brady has done with that group. Probably the best QB of our generation.

Right now I think Suh would be found unfit to face a criminal trial. Schwartz is going to have to do something to make him a bit accountable to his team. He has game changing talent. He also has game changing discipline issues, and no sense of responsibility right now.

Yeah with Detroit having 5 games left, I don't really see how he gets that many games. I would give him 2 games although I see it being 1 game.

Goodell might try to suspend him longer, but Suh would win the appeal. It was a dumb play, but I really doubt he'd get more than a game. NFL prefers to fine players for on field stuff rather than suspend them.

I think Schwartz is part of the problem. It isn't like Schwartz is known for keeping his emotions under control.

The Hayneworth play is nothing like this at all and his meeting with Goodell was at his request so if anything that will play into his favor as showing that he is trying to ensure he does the right thing.
The play obviously deserves no suspension but with Goodell's concern with public perception and the obvious sissy views by most in this thread I think he will get a game to satisfy the mass morons out there.

How can you say that and mean it? Seriously....the guy stomped on a defenseles player lying on the ground...a guy who`s head he had just thumped into the turf on top of that.
No he didnt get DS in the head, but so what? He intentionally tried to curb stomp another player....Goodelll simply will not stand for that crap and thank goodness he wont.
Suh is a loose cannon who has to be reeled in before he seriuosly hurts someone with his bush league antics and just get back to plaing pro bowl calibre football.

Mike Peirera, former director of NFL officiating, details and explains why the suspension will be multiple games in a succinct and neutral manner.
