2011 Fireplace Arm Guy Thread....The Return!
Nothing says the holidays are approaching like watching a plaid-clad, disembodied arm poke and prod at a roaring television fire. Good news to all you FPAG fans out there, he has returned for the 2011 season! Well at least in one hour segments that is.
I just noticed that the Frame channels 212HD/165SD on Shaw are showing one hour blocks of this year's FPAG until at least Dec 8. So, while this isn't as great as the longer running, full showings on the other channels that start closer to Christmas, this should at least wet our whistles till then.
Questions to be answered this year:
How's his technique this year?
Will he offer up a variety of plaid, or stick with a favorite sleeve?
Has he been off-season FPAG Fire-tending training?
Will Prototype break out his awesome FPAG avi/sig again this year?
The season is upon us, enjoy!

Again Canada outdoes the States. We have the fireplace thingy but I have never seen an arm. One time i did see a small log mysteriously drop into the fire, but no arm. Darn.

Are those of us on Bell forced to suffer through the holidays devoid of the FPAG?

I wonder wht a job like that pays? I also wonder if he can use the other arm, or is he strong side only?

Saw FPAG shortly after going to Frame tonight. He was poking those logs hardcore. One nearly rolled out of the fireplace! It was an exciting scene few films can rival in intensity. Once he placed the new log on his defeated enemies, it was something to behold.

Bell doesn't have it??? Noooooo!
Oh well, I guess I will buy this year's eight disc 3D Blu Ray set, with director's commentary and bonus features. Last year's FPAG had some great insights on his conditioning for the role!

The deleted scenes are quite impressive.
1) See fireplace arm swing an axe as he cuts the wood
2) See drunken fireplace guy fall into the fire
3) See drunken fireplace guy pee on the fire
4) See drunken fireplace guy's cat and the hilarity that ensues when it gets to close to the fire
5) See fireplace guy's arm argue with fireplace guy's wife arm . . . some techinical difficulties at the end
6) see the auditions for the replacement fireplace guy, actors auditioning include Chritopher Walken, Mathew Broderik, Steven Segal, Johnny La Rue and that dude lady Gaga

I want to know when Telus FPAG (girl) is back. I hated her, but I was still a junkie for FPA action.
Anyone know what's going on with Telus Optik??

OMG, I'm going to run a scan and see if there's an OTA HD signal like there was three seasons ago!
EDIT: Nope :-(
Since I've never had digital cable of any kind, I'm all but certain there was a HD feed. I'll try to recreate the settings I use to have tomorrow.
I love the fireplace arm guy.

the original fireplace thread where the first person comes on and swears he or she saw an arm is one of my most memorable CP moments, because I too had seen the arm and wondered if anyone else in the world bothered to watch that channel....

Oh FPAG, the elusive arm, much like KevanGuy, Bigfoot and his illustrious snowbound brother the Yeti, FPAG delights the imagination with his elusive nature.
Blurry photographs and late night drunken testimonials are all we have to assure us of his existence.
