Ipod to Windows 7

So my desktop kicked the bucket along with all my songs and now I want to transfer all my songs to my laptop.

That being said, how do I go about doing this (preferably for free of course!) if it is at all possible?

SharePod. acts as a replacement to itunes for transferring files to and from your ipod. it's a small .exe file that doesn't need to be installed, and you can even run it from the ipod itself in Windows if you store it there
