Give us a little more:
Which bars did you hear it in?
What type of music? Techno, country, rock?
Just one guy singing? Or back up singers?
It's a dance song, I've heard it at a lot of pub-clubs, Vinyl definitely played it, but I'm pretty sure it's relatively new.
The lyrics I mentioned in the OP are part of the chorus, which is sung. The singer (of the chorus, anyway) sounds like most top 40 male singers these days.
An environment in which a person encounters only beliefs or opinions that coincide with their own, so that their existing views are reinforced and alternative ideas are not considered.
I hate posting this with so little to offer but I've seen some miracles in here before. I heard about 90 seconds of the song far away in the background.
Best described as rock genre, male lead vocalist who sounded a little like Johnny Cash. Female co-lead sounded to me like Meg White. Male lead had spoken parts in song. Whistling melody was big part of chorus(?).
I don't mean to hijack the thead, but I also have a song that I want to know what it is, and the clues I have are probably almost useless. I will be impressed if anyone can figure it out.
Clue 1: I am pretty sure I have heard on AltNation (Sirius satellite)
Clue 2: I think it might be used on a commercial very recently.. maybe a car commerical.
Clue 3: I don't know any of the lyrics, if there even are any. The song has funky bass and has intermittent sounds which sound to me like a trumpet that last for maybe a second or two. They're kind of shakey and out of tune.
That's all I have to go on. Thanks.

That sounded worse than I thought it would.
You're welcome. That was actually a pretty good description.
