Tebow has increased the Bronco content of this thread from 70% to 90%.

I always harken back to that famous Bill parcells saying of a few years ago when people say X team or X player is only doing what they are doing because of blah blah blah.
You are what your record says you are"...and its just so applicable particularly in the NFL.
Tebows record says unequivocally that this year, he has been pretty damn good for his football team...and i am one that believes he was never destined to play well at the pro level.

Well to be fair he's beat a couple of pretty crap teams. The Raiders gift wrapped that game with turnovers and special teams, the Chiefs offense was abysmal and last night he got to play against Mark Sanchez. That said, you can only beat the teams you play, I just don't think a W means that he's been that great when there were other things that played a much greater role in the game.

Maybe all true....but the fact remains...4-1 as a starter for his team....better than most.

I don't understand why teams continue to blitz against him. I would play a containment game and try and make him stay in the pocket, play with 1 safety all game and make him beat me with his arm.

That's my point. Most, if not all, NFL QB's would go 4-1 in games where they get solid (in some case great) performances from their defense and special teams. If you limit your opponents to 10 and have a defensive TD you damn well better win.

He reminds me of Kevin Feterki when he played for the stamps, long on desire and will to win, short of realy quarterbacking skills, and his name will eventually kill his career.

I still remember the Labour Day Classic game where Feterik went into god mode and destroyed the Eskimos.

I loved baby Feterik's heart, but man were his passes dangerous, he just loved throwing cross-body to the flats, you could almost hear McMahon's collective breath being held at once every time.
Just the biggest muffin throws, seemed like the ball would just hover there like a cloud on a summer day, begging to be intercepted.

We like to make fun of Feterik, but in reality, he may have been in the top half of Quarterbacks in the CFL that year. It was an awful year for quarterbacks.
Was that the same year the Stamps started 6 different quarterbacks?

Yup including future Roughrider coach Scott Milanovich who I think threw 6 picks in one game and promptly went home.

I remember having so much hype for Jason Gesser, thought he was gonna be the real deal. Too bad he was made of glass.

Interesting that you never felt VY's record never meant much, but Tebow's apparently does?

Didn't Michael Souza play that year too?
His claim to fame was that he was the QB that John Grisham based the book Playing for Pizza on

Are you talking about the Vince Young who cant find a starting job in the NFL?
I am not saying either guy is a good NFL QB, because they aren't. But its pretty hard to discredit tebow right now based solely on his record...what's VY's record this year?

You know things are going well for your team when your punter fumbles twice on the same play and still picks up a 1st down...LOL
