Again...she isnt the only one who knows "these bums" by name...and it is hardly a surprise given her political doings in the past. So if you are going to accuse someone of something....do so, don't try a poke holes in it from afar. Oh, and you have to rpove it as well.
bigger question to me is...even if she and her husband are doing this so he can get his name out there....so what? What difference does it make to anyone?

Ok let's give this another go shall we?
This is an important topic and big story so we want our users to be able to talk about it - so if a poster or posters continue to take this off the rails we will be forced to suspend their accounts.
We would further suggest that if you have a problem with a specific poster simply place them on ignore.

Anybody see anything happen down at Olympic Plaza today? Evictions? Warnings? Skull-bashing?

Glad to see the thread back. I suspect with the drop in temps expected tonight and tomorrow, we'll see some interesting news coming out of there tomorrow.

If it gets really cold tonight, the City should 'offer' the protesters a transit bus to sit in to keep warm.
Once it's full of occupiers, they could close the door and cart them all off to the DropIn or Remand Center (occupiers choice).

Yeah, it's what we've been waiting for. Hopefully all of them leave, but even if it's just a few they'll probably be pretty demoralized by it.
There has to be a way to capitalize on this nonsense. If FL wants to provide us with profiles of the individuals we could start a survivor-type pool on this.

I don't think the town of Waterton has had any occupy protests, and the remaining crew would be a good fit down there at this time of year with little to nothing still open.

Not surprised considering Calgary is the most right-wing city in Canada.

Or, you know, it might have something to do with the fact that the Olympic Plaza crowd is an embarrassment that has done nothing to get anyone on their side.

Actually, it's probably a bit of what Canuck-Hater commented on and what you commented on.

Protesters in Occupy Calgary camp dig in for wintry weather
Quote:
“We’re also trying to petition different companies to pitch in to give donations, so maybe we can even have electricity so that we can get electric heaters. It’s something that our legal team is looking into, but we don’t have any headway on that yet,” said Derrick Frank, who has been with the Occupy movement since it set up its encampment in Olympic Plaza a month ago.
“The majority of us, as I said, we’re not too worried about (the cold). Myself, I’m going to be approaching my dad for funding just to get some more stuff for my tent to help me out. I know he’s got tonnes of blankets and stuff that I can use.”
|
Quote:
Jason, who declined to give his last name, said he was worried about the “guys who are not really dressed for it.”
He suggested people head to the nearby Drop-In Centre’s clothing shop to scrounge for warmer wear.
“Otherwise, they’re not going to survive the weekend, basically. Especially if it dips to below that –20 C mark, which it’s supposed to.”

It'll get really cold and the geniuses in their bubbled wrapped tents will almost die and the maaaaaan will have to pay for their ambulance ride and subsequent hospital stay - yeah, life sure sucks round here.

It was reported on the evening news that squatter James Bullock was offered a construction job last night after a heated exchange with someone working in the industry. James was complaining that no one wants to help him out. Not surprisingly the same guy shows up this morn at 7AM to take James to his job and James is nowhere to be found.

What I am going to find interesting is when other major Canadian cities rid their own Occupy zipper heads that are hiding behind the charter of rights and Occupy Calgary still exists and if Nenshi claims nothing still can be done.
Regina removed their yocals, has any other city followed in Canada yet?

What are they protesting again.
I'm sure that one of those companies that they're going to beg for free clothes and electricity could probably help out with employment if they were willing to work.
I'm sure that someone that is truly homeless isn't going to appreciate some self-entitled loser with means taking the warm sweater from the clothing bin.
I'm sure that the dad is wondering what the frack his able bodied son is doing mooching cash off of him instead of working.
