I like the idea, but based on what he is saying, Batman is posing as a police office which isn't right.
Yup. These teens could get themselves into some serious trouble, both with a pedo beating the crap out of them or with the law should things get too agressive. Pretty clear in that video he suggests he is a cop, and is posting a video of that guy in the car who has done absolutely nothing wrong other than be in a parking lot at the wrong time. They readily admit they have no proof against the guy other than him originally agreeing his name is Peter. Pretty thin line to be walking and could absolutely end them up in court - on the wrong end of the pokey stick.
Even if they identify the correct guy and even if they have reasonable evidence, it's likely that what they're doing is entrapment. Most police departments have their own agents looking for this sort of behaviour online, but are very careful to follow procedures that will actually allow them to make convictions. This sort of high-profile vigilante activity has serious potential to interfere with legitimate police investigations... for example, by causing suspects to change their online behaviour by becoming more cautious.
And as the police suggest, their risk is probably a lot higher than they realize. At some point, some pedo was going to figure them out and come prepared. I appreciate their desire to make a difference, but just completely the wrong way to go about it.
I think you are all giving pedophiles way to much credit. Both the realize they are being baited, or to to anything about it.
Well, you have your everyday run of the mill pedophile, true, but then you also have your psychopathic killer that just so happens to also be a pedophile on the side. You never know who you might meet doing something like this.

Should have chucked a Grappling hook at the pedo.
Tied him to his bumper and drove around the parking lot.
Or better yet ripped his phone, took off and called his wife and every number in his address book telling what he has done and what a disgusting perv he is.
Watching dragons den and they had a news break for the National and they were talking about these guys. Police are cracking down on them. Peter Mansbridge is on the case. Details at 11:00
