Portlandia is a television series on the Independent Film Channel (IFC), set and filmed in Portland, Oregon. It features Saturday Night Live cast member Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, of the now-defunct band Sleater-Kinney and current lead guitarist/singer for Wild Flag.
The IFC announced today that season 2 will begin airing on January 6, 2012, and that it will feature Modest Mouse's Isaac Brock, as well as other guest stars Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Steve Jones from Sex Pistols, Johnny Marr of The Smiths (and formerly of Modest Mouse), Joanna Newsom, and Annie Clark (a.k.a. St. Vincent). All these musicians will be taking up temporary residence in the show's satirical and dreamy rendering of Portland, OR.

Just watched episode 6 today. Favourite show right now by far. You just never know what is going to happen and the acting is very, very good. Creepy right down to the opening credits. Just an amazing show. Jessica Lange is fantastic.

So...
It looks like the creators of New Girl have picked up on the criticism of the show. For some reason, I kept recording it and the last TWO episodes have been seriously funny. They have really toned down her quirkiness and they are focusing equally, if not more on the three male roommates and their characters are really developing.
I am being seriously sincere. It is a much better show.

Last nights thanksgiving special was a bit better they did tune her down a bit. But they then turned up the stupid factor on the one guy with his cooking obsession.
There's no doubt that she's incredibly cute and has a great slow smile, and thats the only reason why I watch that.
I also started watching 2 broke girls again because I heard that it had improved.
I think its far better then it used to be and Kat Dennings breasts talk to me.

Schmidt from New Girl has stolen my funny bone. Honestly, everything he says or does just cracks me up, my favorite new character by far. I think the show is 'meh'-to-decent, but he just brings it up to a "must watch" for me.

Homeland has been simmering along as a good show, but took a turn towards great last week - similar to 24 at is peak, though, to this point, more drama and intrigue than action.
Can't wait to see the next episode.

Don't want to cruise through most of the thread, lazy, but does anyone have any thoughts on the series Justified?
I had a buddy go on and on about it yesterday but want to get thoughts from the CP brain-trust.

Awesome series!
The second season had not only a great story arc, but Breaking Bad quality acting.
Highly recommended.

Holy crap! Just got finished watching the season finale of Workaholics. Easily the funniest show I've watched in a long long long time.
I understand that it has it's target group (likely 16-30 year old males), but I highly recommend everyone watches this show. More 'quotable' than any Will Ferrell movie.

Workaholics is an amazingly funny show. In addition to the guys, I also find Jillian unbelievably funny. The Ninja Turtles episode was absolute genius.
I agree on it being highly 'quotable'. I just wish more people would watch it so all their quotes would catch on. That would be tight butthole.

When does American Horror Story come to those of us without F/X on our cable pack.
I saw the first episode and then it vanished.

With all these new cable channels, there will be many shows that many people have never seen. I don't know any of these shows that aren't on network TV.
