Also, sniping is crazy hard for me on PS3. I can't level the recon with the base Sniper rifle at all. Need to unlock much better rifles in order to have a chance.
Biggest adjustment for me has been not being able to hit anything with my rifle.
I pride myself on my shooting percentage, and so far this game it is awful.
Speaking of K/D ratio, I found the perfect way to farm it, even better than camping with a sniper.
Go to Noshahr Canals, be US, get in the AA gun on the carrier, that's it.
The AA gun is close enough that not only can you deny air support to the Russians for most of the points, you can directly shoot at vehicles and even guys running around those points. 10 kills is pretty easy to do so 10-0 + any points you get for spotting and vehicle disable and destroy ribbons and stuff.
Are you talking Rush or Capture the Flag?
IMHO in Rush, if you're the Russians and someone competent gets on the Mobile AA, it's over.
The heat seeking missiles - you can fire 2 off instantly and take down any chopper. The AA guns it has are sweet too and can take down any vehicle.
So they banned or stat-reset a bunch of accounts for boosting (the EOD bot thing), I'm not sure how I feel about that.
It's not like they were hacking like I've seen some people do, there's apparently some kind of teleportation hack where the entire team will get teleport to one spot and then get killed by C4, the hacker racking up 10 kills at once.
Or some teleporting under the world hacks, not to mention the "regular" aimbots wallhacks and everything else.
At the very least they should announce it when an exploit is found and becomes a actionable offense.
What's the difference between this and making a server where everyone just takes turns shooting each other to maximize xp or something?
I guess I'm a bit sympathetic because I hate the grind-to-unlock weapons thing.

Its that the speed of repair is far too fast. Purposely taking advantage of something wrong with the game is a pretty good definition for using an exploit.

it's common sense. when you get 10,000 points in a round with a 0/0 kill/death score, you should expect to see some repercussions

Got BF3 over the weekend and am really enjoying it so far, all the guys I haven't gamed with since BFBC2 are back which is nice.
I have to say that Origin is a steaming pile of crap and BattleLog, server browser and game launch all through your web browser pisses me off. This couldn't have all been integrated into Origin? So you need to have Origin(which serves no purpose other than a validation platform) and your web browser open to play the game.
Lastly, the friends lists don't sync? Really? I add everyone in Origin and then have to add them all again in Battlelog, it would be less of a piss off if Origin actually let you join off a friend.
It's not enough to turn me off the game but it all seems so unnecessarily complicated and lacks the streamlining that makes Steam so popular. Which in the end is their competition.

i'll agree with that, i thought Origin sounded like a good idea until i saw how EA implimented it with their first A+ title. i'd be fine with battlelog if it was a companion site for BF3 to track your stats and such, but making it a requirement to run the game is lame

It's not hard to avoid those things if you want to, either jump to a different server when it happens, or play on servers that are actively admined, and hackers will rarely be an issue, and when they are it's actually kind of fun to mess with them (all their team on ventrillo decides to TK them or intentionally get TKed by them or something) until they get booted.

Yeah, it would really be better under the Steam platform. I think there are also issues with this game. Coming from BF2, I see:
No horn? Really? It's handy to tell a teammate to turn around and get in as you are driving past them in a jeep. Plus it gets an enemy to turn around right before you run over them.
Speaking of running around in a jeep, the collision detections is pretty bad. You can go over a hill and you pancake into the ground before coming back up. And what seems like random collisions puts the jeep on fire too.
No commander mode. I miss this a lot from BF2.
Voice chat. I understand with 31 teammates it's a hard feature to implement, but there has to be a better way to do it.
The menu between rounds. You cant chat. You cant make changes to your loadouts. You are forced to wait 45 seconds, give us something to do!

While I am a pretty big fan of the game, ignoring these two (minor but important) items is unforgivable.
