That's not fair. Postiga missed from 8 yards out. Not sure how. Ronaldo had a great chance on the run and the ball hopped up just as he was hitting it. Finish wasn't there, but the chance was. Meireles had a good shot on goal in the first five minutes.
Not happy about the result, but not pissed off either. I have a hard time seeing Bosnia walking into Lisbon and walking away with a win. I am scared of a 1-1 draw though. Thought Portugal were better, but as is the norm with these guys, tons of talent and build up, ZERO finish.

Ireland through 4-0!
Great if Ireland draw France - revenge will be sweet.

You can't rule anyone out, but if you told me the Czechs would win 2-0 at home against montenegro, I would have taken it. The Czechs looked good they controlled the game, did you watch it???? Rosicky played the best football I've seen him play in a long time.
The czechs are starting to round into half decent form. Looking forward to the next leg. Hopefully the Czechs play smart and play defence first and counter when the situation arises.

I saw some of the highlights after the game, the Czech's were the better team no doubt
Montenegro are a very good home side though, so I wouldn't be surprised with a 2-0 win and heading in to extra time
I just meant that the tie isn't done yet
whereas the Ireland/Croatia ones are, they have 3 and 4 away goal leads.

Total contrasts in styles in the England-Spain friendly.
Spain hold the ball forever and pass it 100 times. England finally get the ball, go charging up the field and lose it and have to face another 100 passes.

I was watching 3 games at once so I missed the Postiga chance, but I'd argue that Bosnia had more and better chances, the Portuguese defence switches off too much.
That said though, the 0-0 draw in Bosnia is about as good as a Portugal win. Bosnia are going to be really hard up to get anything in Portugal so I see Portugal having the decisive advantage.

now that we got Scottie Parker in the fold it's only a matter of when
who needs Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Mata, Silva etc.

It is but it goes nowhere. Spain can't score more than 1 goal against a competent opponent.

Scott Parker is actually a pretty good central midfielder, but the rest of the talent is pretty thin.

Its also incredibly boring and totally useless sometimes. They lost 1-0 against England despite 71% possession. Those are the kinds of games they typically won. If Torres or David Villa cant get it done that team is toast. All the ball control in the world is useless if you never put the ball in the back of the net.
The dominance of Spain, and by association Barcelona, is going to begin to founder, particularly as that core gets older. I think we'll see the systems of Holland and Germany come to the fore, and thank God, at least they arent painfully boring to watch.

They set the World Record as the team that scored the fewest goals yet won the World Cup.

It's the coaching
they could basically play like Barcelona with Silva filling in the Messi role but they choose not too

To counter argue ...
A competent opponent can't score a single goal in a meaningful game against Spain.
It was a friendly against a -ve Ingerland team on home turf with a set piece goal which is all they were going to get. Wouldn't read too much into it.

No arguments here. They have the best defense in the world, that's why it's boring.

Its the Second Leg day:
Turkey vs. Croatia - Croatia leads 3-0
Czech Rep. vs. Montenegro - Czechs lead 2-0
Estonia vs. Ireland - Ireland lead 4-0
Bosnia vs. Portugal - 0-0 on Aggregate
I dunno about the rest of you, I'll be keeping my eye on the Portugal match (Go Bosnia!) but as its likely to shape up as another snoozefest I will be watching the best teams in Europe duke it out in a friendly.
Germany vs. Holland!
