Default Pacquiao-Marquez

Anyone watch this? Marquez barely lost again (I actually think he won one of the previous 2). Why everyone thinks Pacquiao will beat Mayweather after seeing their performances against Marquez is mind blowing to me. You know why there wasn't a Mayweather-Marquez II or III? Because Mayweather wiped the floor with him and won every single round.

Completely different fighters. Comparing Mayweather v. Marquez to Pacquiao v. Marquez makes no sense.

Except Mayweather actually is a better version of Marquez both being counterpunchers. So if Marquez gives Pacquiao fits, Mayweather should dominate Pacquiao.

“Commercially speaking, it will be a huge fight, a very big fight,” Marquez said of a potential Pacquiao-Mayweather bout. “Boxing is about styles. The style of Mayweather would get very complicated for Pacquiao.”

The experts are finally beginning to realize this too as all the articles coming out today talk about how Mayweather's style maybe impossible for Pacquiao to beat.

This match was pretty much a microcosm of everything that is wrong with boxing right now.

Now, I am no UFC booster but, if this match had happened in the UFC, Dana White would have come out after and called it what it was: bull####. Marquez got jobbed; and the sad thing is everyone knew that if it came down to a judges decision, no matter how the fight had gone, he was going to get jobbed. That is the state boxing is in. You know it's corrupt and you just accept it as is because there is nothing else you can do.

Mayweather is smart. He's just waiting for Pacquiao to deteriorate, make the big money fight that Pacquiao can't refuse , then pummel him.

Sometimes a boxer have problems with some particular fighter. Marquez does not want to go toe-to-toe with Pacquiao and he would rather just wait until Pacquiao makes mistakes. Look at Muhammad Ali having a hard time against Joe Frazier and Frazier becomes a normal boxer against somebody else. It is a mental thing.

I saw the fight and Pacquiao were more aggressive..just look at the face of Marquez... and usually the judges gives more points to a more aggressive fighters. As far as Mayweather is concerned, if he really wants to fight Pacquiao... just fight him and don't make any demand or excuses. Mayweather is just afraid because Pacquiao is a good fighter. By the way, as I remembered Mayweather last fight, it ended up as controversial win.

I hope pacman never fights pretty boring just so he doesn't get his gangsta payday.

Did you guys catch the Magarito/Cotto promo after? AWESOME stuff!!

I used to think Max Kellerman was the biggest geek on tv when he did friday night fights but he is pretty good right now.

I saw that as a Pacquiao win all the way, especially after he clearly won the 12th. Everyone I was with agreed that it was close, but Marquez was certainly not robbed.

16 - 12 by one of the judges?

He was robbed.

At least 8 of those rounds could easily be seen as toss ups. Judges have different ideas of what wins a round, look at the scores of the first fight. Pacquiao was the more active fighter, that's what got him the win.

Pacquiao dodging Mayweather according to current reports. I've always believed it was Manny dodging Mayweather and not the other way around. Not sure why the media and public have always sided with Pacquiao. Looks like Pacquiao wants a 4th fight with Marquez instead.

Although I am a Pacquiao fan, I do think that Marquez should have had this victory. But I found this pretty interesting...

The real reason this fight has not happened is because Arum likes to be able to pick fighters from his Top Rank promotion for Pacquiao to fight.

Arum doesn't want to fight Mayweather until he pretty much dries out all potential draws within his promotion, then he might go to Mayweather for the big pay day.

Its what has been the biggest problem with boxing for over 20 years now, we don't get to see the fights fans want because the greedy promoters have too much power.

We really need the current state of boxing to collapse, so a single UFC like organization will rise up to help create the best fights.

Yeah, that's certainly the case. I was more commenting on why the public perception is what it is.

If Pacman fights Marquez again, the big fight against Mayweather might not happen if Pacman loses.
