That's what happened when you caught Vampirism in Oblivion.

I am relying on CP to convince me the $60 I spent was worth it and that my assault rifle whoring self will adapt to a broadsword and a bow.
Skyrim really doesn't resemble Dragon Age much at all with respect to RPGs.

I think you should not play it. Dragon attacks? How cliche. Basically the entire game is just running around this world that's way too big for it's own good and harvest mountain flowers to make potions. Nobody ever bothers telling you what you should be doing, and my inventory keeps getting filled up with goblets. I don't understand what the fuss is about.

Yeah that rings a bell.

In this case though I just had a couple of "normal" diseases, I happened to have a few cure disease potions so no worries.

Argh, ok here's the cheat code for PC users for increasing the carry limit, I forgot how annoying it is (I don't want to have to organize my crafting materials and blacksmithing stuff and only go get it when I want to do something with a weapon).

Yes it's a cheat, but I figure all it does is save fast travelling back and forth to a house and moving stuff around in a terrible inventory management system anyway.

Spoiler!

You can also find altars in churches/temples in towns or there are a few scattered throughout the map as well (you'll hear a ringing noise when you're near them, similar to the Nirnroot sond).

If you activate the altar it will give you a blessing for a brief period of time (the blessing you get depends on the god/godess that the alter is dedicated to). It addition to the blessing any diseases or posions you have will be cured.

Haha, this is one of those "cheats" that just feel so damn legitimate. I'm going to just go ahead and call this one an "enhancement". Those dragon bones and dragon scales are heavy suckers!

In most towns there is a temple shrine that will cure your diseases as well... which is exactly what BlackEleven said so I guess I am an idiot.

And Blaster, if you're looking for us to convince you, just read the thread. There are 15 of us on here who probably spent more time playing this game than sleeping or doing anything else this weekend.

The best thing to do so far is to have multiple options when it comes to attack. Having a bow has saved me an incredible amount of times.
I also play as a mage, and this is a good recommendation. Remember that some enemies have a natural resistance to magic, and thus using magic on them makes them very hard to beat. Almost always the enemies that use magic on you are also resistant to magic.

I keep a sword around for this purpose. Typically, enemies that are strong against magic are weak against mele -- they have little or no armour and will often switch to a dagger when you get in close which they aren't really good at using in the first place. Even if I can beat them with magic I'll typically use the sword anyway to gain skill in it for when the enemies start leveling up.

If you must use magic, then try keeping a weakness to magic/frost/flame/sparks potions around and using that on them to weaken their defense against it (sparks is best since it also damages magicka).

Or for a good combination of the two strategies my personal preference is to enchant a weapon with weakness to sparks (since sparks also hurts magicka), sparks (since they're already weak to it) and soul trap (to make it easy to recharge after battle). Then I equip that in one hand with either heal or sparks in the other depending on the strength of the opponent.

At least that's how I enchanted my weapon in Oblivion, I hope the same strategy works in Skyrim. I haven't got far enough in Skyrim to start enchanting weapons yet, so I still use a standard sword but it's been working well enough so far.

I put in 40 hours in three days this weekend playing Skyrim. Coming to work today was the hardest thing I've done in awhile.

I think I've logged around 17 or 18 hours so far. Can't wait to do some more Thieves Guild quests.

So...is this one of those games, you can't stop thinking about even when you're not playing it? There have been a few games over the years that I've had an unhealthy obsession with. Diablo 2, Ocarina of Time, Bioshock, Modern Warfare.

Can't wait to pick this one up. I'm foregoing MW3 for it, so it better be good. I have very limited vid time these days, so I hope that as a casual gamer I can play every so often and still be into it. Every game play video I've seen has been amazing!

Question I have is do you load it onto your PS3 or play from the disc?

Lol they offered me the title of Thane of Riftwhatever where you start the thieves guild stuff, hopefully that doesn't stop me from doing the thieves guild quests.

I'll do all the thieves guild quests, then destroy the guild.

I think PS3 requires a mandatory install

This is one of those games you can't stop thinking about even when you haven't played it at all. This has been an incredibly long week.

So true. I can't tell you how many game play vids I've watched.

Haha, same here. I can't stop thinking about it either.

I'm even considering not going to the Flames game tomorrow. A blasphemy.
