Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 3

I may be the only person who enjoyed the story of Modern Warfare.

CoD4: MW set the story up pretty good. MW2 was not as good story wise, but still moved the plot forward. and MW3 kind of wrapped everything up full circle.

Not as good as 90% of single player games, but I was engaged to see Soap and Price's story all the way through.

I still haven't finished the single player campaign.
I'm curious to know how it all concludes though, so I figure I should probably do it sometime sooner rather than later.

They do a good job of closing out this "trilogy".

It's always fun to play around Christmas. Such an influx of new, 'less hardcore' players. You can really see the average skill level plummet over night from December 24th to December 25th.

I just went into Future Shop on Saturday and picked up a copy. There were a ton of copies on the shelf.

I find not knowing the maps contributes as well. When you get accustomed to the game, you have a better idea of where players will pop out from but right now I just run around randomly and don't have a good idea of where there will be campers. I'm around 0.8 k/d right now but slowly pulling it back up to 1.

It seems to me you need to deal more damage in this game compared to MW2 to kill someone. I play Hardcore for the most part though so it won't bother me too much since I have unlocked the Hardcore modes.

Yeah, definitely seems to take more to kill someone...I'm using extended mags, and still find that I spend half a clip killing people. I find the weapon kick quite a bit more pronounced than in Black Ops or MW2

I think the thing that annoys me most about the game is not being able to see opponent combat records.

That might be part of it as well. Maybe I'm just not hitting them as much because of the kick.

When you're in the game lobby you can see the rank of everyone in the game you're playing. For example, if I'm in Kill Confirmed, I can go into the leaderboard thing and see everyone's stats for Kill Confirmed.

That's one thing Black Ops did extremely well.

I think so, but I'm not sure if that is part of the premium package or you get that for free if you sign up. Since it is always down it doesn't really matter.

Yeah, it is on COD Elite, but you can't access elite while you're in the game lobby or anything. It's a completely different entity.
I was part of the COD Elite Beta, so I had access to everything; without paying, you should still have access to game score/stats, time played, level, your custom class set ups etc...
When you pay, I believe you get info on guns, perks, maps etc...
I'm not 100% sure on any of it right now though because COD Elite has been down since MW3 was released...the servers couldn't take all the demand.

I'm curious too...what happened?

In the scorched earth mission, when you're on the roof and you have to mark the tank for the air strike, it won't mark. It repeatedly tells me to hit RT to mark the tank using the binoculars, but RT, and every other button do nothing.
I know it's not a controller issue, because I can still fire my gun without issue.

have you tried to just restart the mission instead of just the last checkpoint?

I just finished the campaign and am thoroughly disappointed. Probably took 10 hours total, if that. This is my first COD game. Am I missing something here?
