if you've got the cash, don't forget to find a trainer for your core skills every level or so. every point you buy in a skill also counts towards your overall level

**** I accidently overwrote a new game over my 30 level character....

Skyrim should be a lock for game of the year.

I have wasted my long weekend to this game. Damn it's good. So far I have just been exploring the map, doing some odd quests here and there.

I got it too, yeah just the side quests are distracting enough, though I've killed 2 dragons.

I bought the house too because I'm a packrat and always am on the border of having too much stuff.

The game is amazing. I'm level 16, killed about 6-8 dragons while doing side quests. I had two peculiar dragon fights so far, one of them was a dragon and a giant versus me and the other one, was a dragon fight just outside of my house.

I'm always amazed every time I'm walking on the mountains, just an incredible sight.

The one thing this game drives me insane is the buy/sell menu. Most of the time I click on 'MISC', it closes the window.

I'm only 1.5 hours in - how do you get into the Thieves' and Assassin's Guilds? By stealing and killing - do they come looking for you? Or is there an inn somewhere?

Not sure about the Dark Brotherhood but I suspect it's one of the quests I already have, but for the Thieves Guild if you've been doing some thieving already,

Spoiler!

Thanks for the spoiler, I was wondering where I was able to find it.

For the Dark Brotherhood:
Spoiler!

Quick question: Is it normal for the Hagraven (at Hag's End I believe) to be harder to fight than dragons? I can grind random dragons pretty easily...it just takes a while. The Hagraven's fireball though just tears through my level 8 mage like paper and I was forced to rely on physics hacking to get by (snipe a spell or two, then duck as the Hagraven seems to refuse to chase you. At least the slow time shout was worth it...

EDIT - Great game...only complain I've had so far is the somewhat limited hair colour scheme. I was going to go for some brighter colours that I used in Oblivion, but can't get them with Skyrim's set up. Pretty minor though as most in-game ones come close enough.

Is that the quest to save the tree?? Probably is the same mage.. because it took me so many tries until I kind of got lucky and killed him. Basically one fireball from him killed me and the splash range of the fireball was ridicolous.

I would recommend completing the asure shrine star quest, you get a pretty good allie after. Better then the useless one you get at dragon reach.

Just wait a little bit longer, they get fun after. Your mage will get him a lot easier than a two handed warrior/archer.

The best thing to do so far is to have multiple options when it comes to attack. Having a bow has saved me an incredible amount of times.

So dumb question but how can I see my character all decked out in his armor? In Oblivion when you want to the screen where you scrolled between your quests, stats, ect you could see your character. I am on xbox 360 and can't figure it out.

I bought this game. I have yet to play it. Looks terrible and is akin to Fallout without assault rifles (which means a bad game!). I now have buyer's remorse with out even double clicking the icon. Convince me otherwise.

...Really?

Play it before saying it looks terrible. Why would you buy it if it looks terrible?

And no, its not terrible. But i'm pretty sure you've made up your mind how you feel about the game.

Hope you're trolling. This is by far the best game I have ever played in my life.

Nope, dead serious. I bought the game becaue I have far too much money for my age and friends said I needed to buy it. I then realized I never liked Dragon Age (sacrilige! I just never got rolling with it. Always quit close to the same point. I hate it, but that's just how I am) which this game draws from the same era from. I have watched a friend play it and realized the game may not be for me. I am relying on CP to convince me the $60 I spent was worth it and that my assault rifle whoring self will adapt to a broadsword and a bow.
