So I can't help but notice there is a fence and some landscaping on the north end of the bridge at 8th st. I was under the impression that they were planning on moving the pedestrian crosswalk from 7th to 8th when the bridge was complete, no? Does any have some more information on this?
As a big supporter of this bridge, or more importantly what it will do to my commute time, I'm not going to be impressed if I have to walk all the way to the LRT bridge to cross memorial anyway...

That's a good question, as the pathway does elevate up quite a bit to meet where the bridge will go.

I wonder if it is as simple as needing back up bridges in a time of war?

It sounds like Calgary will wake up to the sight of the bridge completely across the river.

I think it looks good. I really hope it doesn't get vandalized and spray painted.

It's all the way across now. You can see it from the other bridge a 3 minute walk down the road that does the exact same job.

They actually move the bridge sideways off the support if I am not mistaken, lowering onto its final resting place. At that point they'd be free to dismantle the support bridge.

Oh, that sounds pretty cool actually! Is that over the weekend or something? I would be interested in catching a glimpse, maybe.

With how fast they moved the bridge across I wouldn't be surprised if they move it over today.
