That seems to be what I'm reading, so I'm not sure why there are hostile/whining replies like from CaptainCrunch? Isn't China doing the USA a favor here?

Whilst the Japanese did learn to vote, it was always for the same party, so the democratic part is debatable, and they are as corrupt as all get out, its just that 'we' can't buy any of them.

How exactly would the Chinese pull off what is being proposed here? Would they be allowed to just import 5000 Chinese factory workers to Boise and pay them their slave style wages and operate everything as if they were still in China?
Wouldn't they have to employ Americans (or at least people with US work visas) and adhere to all of the labour laws in the States, including proper factory conditions and minimum wages?

I chuckled when I read your post and then looked at your avatar

Well, personally I am against the idea of selling of national property/infrastructure to a foreign entity. It undermines sovereignty to a degree. Sometimes this is done without adequately informing the public, ...but yeah it is a form of debt relief.
Alot of privatization occurs when nations are in debt. The IMF runs these programs all over the world. Basically, they offer loans to foreign 3rd world governments at interest, usually impossible to repay....this is when the sacrifice starts.
John Perkins explains it in 2 minutes here.

Really?
Please, all governments are corrupt, some just don't care if you see it all.
What's the oppressive thing about? Chinese Mainlanders seem to love their lives, they are making money and prospering, don't see what's so oppressive about that.
If this is about the cries of a few protestors, well, there are a bunch of people in tents in all the major cities of the Western Democracies that have a few cries as well.

How is China doing America a favor here, beyond buying land, its not like its going to boost employment, they're going to create a bubble where they pay their cheap wages and make their products and probably argue that they shouldn't be charge for any of the customs requirements.
It does America no favors in the long term and is almost like allowing a tumor to grow in your body.

They are going to do this in Idaho? Do you have a source?
