Just finished watching the episode, and that's exactly what he did. He was starting to smirk as the show cut off and went to credits, it was brilliant.
That was a major turn for Dexter, I wonder if we ever see his father again, or it's his brother guiding him from now on.

I thought so. That smirk was one of the best moments of the show IMO. I really like the subtle things shows do (like this). They're always so awesome.
The guy is a complete monster, no more of his pansy BS.
Edit: That whole end sequence was awesome. You really thought Dexter was going to forgive the guy, then the guy just starts laughing right in face and you can see Dexter's rage building. Then he just goes off on him, drowns him and his brother appears. Excellent scene.

just caught up with the show, and damn was that ever an awesome episode ending. so nice to see Dexter finally just lose it and forget about all the rehabilitation stuff that the series has been alluding to for so long. the preview for tomorrow's episode looks pretty killer too, with Dexter taking a road trip with his "brother". this is where the season is really kicking into high gear

Hmmm, not the most intense episode but ice truck killer brother, trinity's son, dooms day killer all in 1 episode? I was hoping for some fireworks but was disappointed.
I really don't care for Debra, Quinn, Legortta...I think the perfect ending to this episode would've been Geller killing Trevor's sister and bringing him back. I did like the brother bond though. Trinity's wife going kuko was weak.

Good episode. Liked the internal battle with dexter. A little disappointed with the lack of DDK story advancing.

The "American Gothic"-esque pose with Dex, his brother and the pitchfork was good!

i thought last night's episode may the worst episode of the entire series.
nothing really happened, the whole excitement of his bro, then trinity, yet it was all for nothing , and the current season's storyline didn't progress at all...

Totally searched Elliotte during the episode...apparently it doesn't exist. Sigh

Not sure if it's because I find the show to be a little stale or if it was always like this, but I find myself laughing off the leaps of logic that we're supposed to ignore. Everything this season seems so convienient.
Last week's episode, Dexter just happens to go to a shady motel where the shady motel owner think Dexter is shady and decides to steal his knives and black mail Dexter. Can't Dexter just find a normal motel with a normal motel owner? Not every motel is small town USA is a place for whack jobs. Such a boring cliche.
And tonight, the clue that lead Dexter to the senile priest which led him to the church was ridiculous. About 2 seconds after examining the body, he just happens to stumble across a broken seam in the fabric of the drapes. A broken seam? I could break a seam on my own curtains, turn around, look back at the curtain and have a hell of a time trying to find it. But no, Dexter just happens to see a crucial piece of evidence in a couple seconds in a broken seam of fabric that he's never seen in his life.
Maybe I'm being too harsh and should just shut up and enjoy the show, but that broken seam really pissed me off. I mean, a broken seam???

this season, though better than some of the others, definitely has its gaps.

I've been noticing them too.
Remember when he was chekcing out Nick and goes to his house and remembers that he attempted to shoot Sam. Dex found the bullet about 3 seconds later.
And the whole storyline with Trinity's son was really stretching it. Do the police in Nebraska not do any investigating? Dexter knew in about 3 seconds that something was amiss.
Oh and it is obvious that it was Laguerta's boss that she's covering up for. She blackmailed him using the fact that he frequented a call girl.

This may be a dumb question but has it been confirmed that this will in fact be the last season?

Nope. In fact, last week Showtime announced it's been renewed for two more seasons.

Debra is getting extremely annoying. If I was Dexter I wouldn't want to talk to her either. She's worse than a needy girlfriend.
I don't know how many siblings have intense conversations about their personal lives, but I think her expectations are ridiculous.

Debra's the WORST. I hope them finding her card with the DDK body means they're killing her off. Probably not, but I reeeeeally, really hope so.

She is also one of the ugliest ladies on TV. Her long horse face is hard to watch in high definition.
