At least for now, everyone gets over any mistake Apple makes. If BlackBerry had that location service bug depleting the battery life, it would've been blown out of proportion by the media.

Well you're probably right that people got over it the next day. Antennagate is another thing that Apple got hammered on. Although they probably weren't hammered like RIM is these days.
I understand exactly what you mean, but RIM isn't helping themselves. They need to innovate and do new things. I don't know what that is, but when the biggest thing to happen to your phones the past 2 years is your most popular phone going from a not having a touch screen, to having a touch screen, you probably ought to worry a bit. Talking about the Bold.
That being said, my dad got the 9900 the other day, and after playing around with it, I love it based on what it can do on the business side. Hell, it seems like a solid phone all around.
But it really isn't anything new or sexy. The touchscreen isn't sexy anymore. BBM isn't sexy anymore, even with the 70 million users it has. BBES isn't sexy anymore. Companies like IBM are moving to allowing their employees to use any phone they want, and this will keep happening more and more.
Hopefully RIM has something up their sleeve, because they need it.
