I also love the A&W commercials with Ryan the Trainee. As a huge comedy nerd, I have noticed he has impeccable timing.
Beuno Beuno Spicy
He's actually a Thespian actor - I was at Bard on the Beach in Vancouver and noticed he was one of the principals a few years back. I imagine his timing has something to do with his work on the delivery of the Bard's work.

He also does a ton of improv and sketch with The Sunday Service in Vancouver. He is a favourite guest of mine on Stop Podcasting Yourself.
We need some more crazy agriculture commercials (this is MY wheat field!) to air. Strange how I now consider it good to so many commercials now.
Haha geez, forgot all about that one. Thanks for reminding me...
That one didn't last very long at all did it? They must've pulled the plug on it pretty quick, I'm sure they got trashed about it plenty. Way to completely whiff on your target audience.
Also, what is up with every cereal commercial with a dad trying to protect his cereal from his kids eating it? And enough with that "crunching" in every cereal commercial too- like nails on a chalkboard to me.
On the cereal commercial thing, what is up with people eating cereal one piece at a freaking time? I first noticed this on 2 1\2 men, Jake would eat his cereal one fruit loop at a time, I mean his schtick is that he is a pig who cannot stop eating and farting but yet he eats his cereal one little tiny piece at a time.
Now I see this in a lot of cereal commercials.
WTH since I am ranting here, I cannot stand people eating in commercials who take the fakest bite of something then chew like they ate an entire package of hubba bubba.
The worst commercial on TV right now is that stupid ####ing Ford truck one that has the girl speaking and she says something like "nananana boo boo jack frost". As soon as I hear that I go into rage mode.
Insult to injury: Everytime that ad comes on my girlfriend has to inform me that the girl speaking is Tina Fey...
(head exploding)

I think the funniest part is if you look up the video on youtube, it was a higher quality (480p 60fps) than the one broadcast on CBC (Looked like 240p 30fps...what?).
Whats with all the companies begging you to follow them on twitter or like them on facebook? I guess I understand "liking" a bar on facebook, but who is going to follow Mr. Fireplace on twitter? Seriously. There's a radio ad for Mr. Fireplace where they tell you to follow them on twitter. Why? So I can buy a new fireplace every other week? WTF?
Dude, whatcha up to tonight?
Gonna go down to Mr. Fireplace... I read on Twitter that they've got the new P-7000s in. I gotta see that badboy
Ok, well we're going to the bar to meet women, and hopefully have sex with them. Have fun at Mr. Fireplace

Advertising works, especially annoying advertising.
No actually I didn't. I went back to see what company it was just so I know to never buy anything from them ever, no matter how good of a deal for making that abomination of a commercial.
Advertising works, especially annoying advertising.
If we could only post one thing in the Gear Grinding thread, this would be it for me.
Like **** it worked. Me and every damn person I know boycotts the F out of companies that go out of their way to be annoying to catch your attention. I can give you a two page list of things I avoided or companies I didn't use because of that crappy method of advertising. Biggest friggen gear grinder in the world.

LOL...
Oh please...people talk about boycotting all the time and then when a company comes out with a product you want or the price you want, you still going to "stand your ground"...uh huh...
It's a commercial. It is common practice for commercials to be annoying in some way so you will "remember" them. It is a known way to market a product and it works. For every person who types in this thread and swears up and down they will never buy x product again, 20 other people remember the commercial when they are thinking about buying x product and go there first. It's a fact of life and a fact of advertising and marketing.
