Player of the Month - Edition 1: Games 1-30
Player -
Defensemen -
Goalie -
Rookie -
Unsung -
Please include stats and a quick blurb where needed. Please include the OV for the unsung hero as well.
Also, some players might have similar stats this opening month, so creativity counts to set you above the rest. That means...add interesting facts about your players, eg: He's playing on the third line with only seeing 10 minutes of ice time.
Nominations are due by Wednesday at 9pm. Winners will be posted on Thursday sometime.

Last year I was advised to follow real time weeks and months, are we changing that up this year?

It's just easier for me to keep track of stuff this way. 30 games at a time. However if people don't like it, we can change it.

Goalie: Ryan Miller - 7 Wins, 2.11 GAA, 0.928 SV%, 4 Star performances (1 every 3 games). Has only allowed ONE penalty shot goal against in 17 attempts, for a 0.941 PS%. Who has a better save percentage on penalty shots than overall??!!!! This guy. Awesome.
Unsung: Josh Harding - 3 Wins in 4 Games. 1.50 GAA, 0.947 SV%, shutout, 1st star, 2nd star. Has been a star in half his games. 72 OV. What a great backup. Has made it easy not to overplay Miller, which influenced Miller's goalie of the month performance.
Defenseman: Christian Ehrhoff: 8 points in 15 games. +4. No minor penalties. Leads my team with 22 blocked shots. Tied for most PK minutes on my team.
Player: Patrick Sharp. Leads my team in points and pk minutes. The ultimate 2-way forward. 16 points in 16 games. 28 hits - more than any Hab except Phaneuf. 54.17% on faceoffs playing the wing, making him an excellent backup choice if a centre is tossed.

Seems just as easy to do a PoM when a month rolls over.

Well if enough GMs want it done another way I'll switch it I guess. I just don't really have the time to match it up with a calendar. It's easier for me this way.

If you prefer to do it the way you are doing it now, that's good enough for me and won't question that. However, to say that you don't have the time to do it the other way is a sad excuse because it takes about 15 seconds to figure that out; I'd know.

Ditto to what Goffie said. And a no-brainer if this is the case, since it really doesn't matter much, in my opinion, in the end.

Maybe a sad excuse to you, but you don't really know my schedule and what goes on in my life time-wise.

Of course I don't know that, I wasn't implying you weren't too busy or that what is going on in your life isn't important, I'm simply stating 15 seconds isn't a lot of time.

That's fine. You have your way. I have mine. We'll leave it at that.

Avalanche Nominate:
Defenseman - Filip Kuba - 18GP - 2G, 8A, 10Pts, 22 SB, +1
One of the only bright spots this season, the fact that he is a plus player is insane on this team.

Dman of the month:
Derek Morris - leads dmen in CPHL scoring with 11 points, and is the top plus/minus player in the entire league at +14. All this for a guy taken off the UFA scrap heap.
Rookie of the month:
Corey Schneider - sparking 10-3-1 record with a solid 2.46 GAA.
