For the sake of this discussion I've been lumping you in together and it's likely that you both don't actually share the exact same view on the matter. One thing you do agree on though is that the protesters must be removed swiftly and that is the part of your position that I am seeking more clarification on.

If you reread your posts, you should apologize for behaving like an ass. Don't know what history exists there, but it shouldn't have been dragged into this thread.

I am really looking forward to the first snow tonight and first colder nights, just because of the occupy protestors. Has the city gone in and taken away the fire hazards such as heaters and stoves? I sure hope so. I wouldn't want to see anyone badly burned or injured as a result.

At this point I'm kind of surprised the Occupy movement isn't demanding that we eliminate money altogether. Everything we could ever possibly want should be given to us free of charge!
The other extreme would have the Occupy movement demanding we return to subsistence farming.

45. We demand that the nuclear industry be phased out.
makes sense, nuclear power is bad I guess...oh well at least we'll still have plenty of oil to run on
47. We demand the shutting down of the Tar Sands project.
50. We demand Canada pull out of the Keystone Pipeline.
51. We demand the prohibition of all off-shore drilling. We demand maximum liability on all oil spills.
hmmmm, no problem, oil is dirty, at least we have a huge supply of natural gas which is cleaner, we'll just have to live with that
48. We demand that fracking – hydraulic fracturing - be prohibited.
Oh WTF?!?! I guess we'll have to run everything on dreams and good intentions.
Also, just a pet peeve of mine. There is no such thing as "fracking". No one in the industry (read: no one who knows how it's done and what it actually does) spells it with a "k". The only people who do are uninformed hippies who have no idea what they are talking about.

My favourites:
2. We demand that the banks be nationalized and limit interest payments to 1%. (So they support the 1% )
7. We demand that Canada pulls out of all free trade agreements - including repealing NAFTA
24. We demand an independent investigation into 9/11 which will examine all evidence including that which would support a false-flag explanation
25. We demand that “none of the above” be an option on all electoral ballots.
26. We demand - as Bertrand Russell suggested - there be two police forces – one to prove your guilt and another to prove your innocence. We demand lawyers be required to work in pairs so that a lack of resources won’t be a factor in deciding a case.

Wait so their both against authority yet at the same time asking for more?
In other news, I've raised the ire of one of the local protesters, I'm expecting a name drop in his next video joint:
I do hope he calls me the 1%

Showing a profound lack of understanding of what the purpose of police forces is. The Police aren't there to prove anyone's guilt or innocence, they are there to investigate crimes and enforce laws.
As for the lawyers working in pairs thing, I have no idea what the hell that even means.
1) They already do. They are called the prosecution and the defence.
2) If that isn't what they mean, and they think everyone should get two lawyers, then what? They propose to address a lack of resources by doubling the number of lawyers required for a case? Why can't hippies do basic math?

Rather then a permanent occupation movement, they would be better to concentrate demonstrations on specific days, like May 1st and Labour Day.

I think they're too busy concentrating demonstrations on 4:20.

Just because something is politically prudent, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.
When someone is breaking the law, the onus should be on them to justify why it's a bad law, not on anyone else to explain why it should be enforced.
Not enforcing the law when it's politically expedient is a path straight to anarchy and chaos.

The one problem with waiting them out is that you set a precident for when they come back.
"We'll you let us use the space all of last fall, and we left willingly in the winter, and you haven't changed the laws, so here we are to occupy again"
I tend to think that this whole occupy thing will fade out and die considering things like the Calgary Group is so flustered I think by the backlash that they won't even do media interviews anymore which is really counter to any effective protest group.
I think there is probably a lot of dissapointment by the Occupy Group in Calgary that they didn't get their attica moment.

Have the dirty, delusional, dumb hippies moved on yet? I've purposely avoided this thread because it only made me upset.
BTW: I'll be occupying (camping) in Glenmore park this weekend. It's ok though...I'm protesting snow. I don't think the government should allow it to fall to the ground.
DAMN SNOW!
