If I took a poll of the incomes I see daily, this is bang on. It is shocking the type of cash floating around Alberta. If I were to take a rough guess, I would say 50-60% of the people I deal with are 100+. And of those people, maybe 25% look the part and flaunt it.
I had a guy sitting in my office a few months ago beating me up for a 75 dollar set of floormats, on a $25,000 car. I got to the income line and he was making 750k a year....lol. Basically he could buy the thing with 1 paycheck. Nope, wanted the 0% a set of floor mats, AND a go mug thrown in. In a million years, you would have never guessed the guy was so set up. His wife was super funny too, totaling busting his balls for being such a tightwad.

K, went and found champion's post, and I think I found the latest returning poster outage.
Remember NHL009? The guy who went full ###### in the Micheal Jackson thread, gong off about how Johnny Cash was nothing and the like?
NHL009 was....
an Oilers fan - check
east indian - check
used to brag about wealth - check
I'd be willing to bet they are one in the same.
Someone should start a Micheal Jackson vs Johnny Cash thread and see what happens.
Just like Theonlywhiteout and Winnepeg and Amorak (The Scud) and wealth/audi talk, they always eventually out themselves.

Yet despite making over 100 k everyone drives a used Subaru, and no one owns a house. Odd place. I'm one of the three poor people. As I've warned others...don't get into drafting!

One problem this thread has is that anyone who is sub 'cp average' could easily blow the pole. Whether or not I make over 100k I sure as hell want other people to think I do et al.

Scarier yet, probably 30k of that is paid to those guys during CP posting/surfing.

So they should change the aptitude tests for kids in school to see if they like hockey and have leanings toward an internet addiction, if so, success is imminent?

I have a similar funny story. One of my friend's uncle is a VP of a big tech company. He drives a ####ty 1980's Corolla to work, and parks it in the executive parking lot with porsche's, bentley, et al. All the exec's pooled their money to buy him a porsche, and said they would give him to the car for free on one condition: he give them the keys for that POS ####, so they don't have to see it anymore. (He agreed)

Or, people who make over 100k are the most eager and happy to answer a poll like this one, where as everyone else just doesn't really care.

I'm almost ready, although I'm also not one of the 1% (or 40% on CP).

When I started to article the partners and senior managers drove Aleros and Grand AMs, similar to what us first and second years were driving. They wanted to convey the image that the firm wasn't billing out enough and that they couldn't afford nice things.
When I moved back to Calgary after eight months, the partners all drove Porsches, Range Rovers and BMWs. It was quite the contrast.

That's an interesting quote - I don't quite understand what making a 100 grand a year has to do with driving a Subaru?
I think 100K per year is actually a lot less money than people who don't make it think that it is.....
