It's actually your support of the causes I mentioned that I will remember, which has more liberal and left-wing undertones.

Individuals choose how they react. Yes, perhaps I take the perspective that they would be respectful and peaceful. Wrongly or rightly, time will tell.

I've never encouraged "force".

So you don't think these people will just find a corner of the Olympic Plaza to do their business in? Again, this points to a general cluelessness you have about the situation that is getting a little tough to read, quite frankly.
Perhaps they would. Then they would be breaking yet another by-law.

I'm going to think probably not, outside of the expected watered-down responses of the dangers inherit in such a stunt.

10 years on CP has shown me that if there is an unpopular message in a public stunt, the vitriol flows thicker than water. Just sayin'.

I brought up that exact same thoughts at the time we were posting about the tower protest.

Most of the responses were concerns that this jepordizes the safety of the people who had to get them down. I do think that is a fair arguement and I agree.

But I can only think that forcefully removing the Occupy Calgary group would also increase the risk of personal safety. I would think that if you are concerned about the risk at the tower shouldn't concern be equal at Occupy Calgary.

I'm actually pretty socially liberal (fiscally I go back and forth from issue to issue) and support a lot of the points I've heard around the occupy movement, I just have major issues with the manner they've been expressed in many cases.

Not to mention inviting bums to stay at your house is a really bad idea on so many levels. More bad judgement, I guess.

First Lady, do you think the police working at a sold out concert at the Saddledome should start arresting everyone smoking marijuana? Because that is the equivalent of what you are suggesting with removing people's property, probably even in a more minor form.

Do you think that would be a good idea?

Does it boggle your mind every concert why the police let all the lawless hippies sit there smoking their illegal drugs?

What's a Godwin? Or Goodwin? I've actually never heard this term before.

Improperly used in this case, since Aryans != Nazi's but

The problem with this Occupy protest is that all these damn homeless people keep showing up and ruining everything with their insanity and drug addiction problems!

Why couldn't they just stay away so we could properly point out the inequalities of society?

Dammit you're right, is it too late to change it to "users" and "cigarette smokers"?

Same concept, same point.

Wow,
so it has taken, what 25-50 people, ~3 weeks to accomplish what the worlds worst admin assistant could literally do in about 15 minutes.

#Occupycalgary is officially the least productive group of people in the history of the world!

Raleigh-Durham says its spent about $51,000 of taxpayer dollars on Occupy Wall St.

http://www.newsobserver.com/2011/11/...th-a-cost.html

Occupy Wall St. passes $500,000 in donations, now has to set up a fiscal organization.
