Maybe after I kill enough Noobs who use those flashlight/lasers I will get anti blinding googles ... or maybe they can fix it in the patch when they fix the mortars.

i believe they are getting toned down a bit in the first patch, at least the flashlights are. but if a laser scope hits you in the eye, it WOULD blind you regardless of time of day

Well I guess that is true but is it gonna hit me in the eye everytime I look at someone who has one ?

Conquest Metro & Conquest Siene Crossing are essentially ######ed since they just devolve into meat grinding trench warfare battles. They are stacked towards the Russians in both cases; and in both cases, if the Russians take the middle spawn, its lights out due to the layout of the spawns.

Bazaar, Kharg Island, and Tunnel map (as I call it) are my faves right now with a honorable mention to Op. Firestorm.

Im getting crazy artifacting on my GTX 560 on big maps, as are a lot of people. Patches are badly needed for BF3 and Nvidia drivers

I have the SPECACT Kit unlock code for the PC version. The instruction says to find "Extras" under Multiplayer from the main menu. But there's no "Extras" under Multiplayer for me. I only have "server browser" and "leaderboard" under Multiplayer.

Where do you enter the code?

In the Origin client try just clicking on the gear and choosing Redeem Product Code.

Coming BF3 movie, watch the trailer and you unlock some dogtags.

CP Platoon link for PC users again, I sent out a few friend invites to invite to the Platoon (apparently you can't invite non-friends).

Wow, one way to get more points is to play on a less populated server! I just finished a round where there were maybe 10 guys per side I got 12,000 points, 2 unlocks and 9 ribbons!

Has anyone seen this on sale for PC anywhere? Or is Origin the only point of delivery? Sadly, I'm not one of the majority of CP users who make $100K+ and I need to pinch my pennies. Amazon.com has it for $50 but Amazon.ca is $59.99

PC players have it so much better with the 64 player battles. Oh well. Spending 600 dollars on a PC now means I have to work more next summer. Not worth it.

But you can use your PC for many more things than just playing BF3 or games. Consider that.

I thought I saw it cheaper at one of the other online game purchasing places (not Direct2Drive but some other one).

Does anyone have BF3 for Xbox? How many players can you have on a server? Is it going to be a big downgrade from the PC version? I'm sure my new Dell XPS15z could run it just fine, but it is by no means a powerhouse gaming computer.

Consoles only allow 24 players, some maps are smaller/less detailed, graphics are much lower, and video is sub-HD (just under 720p).

Your XPS 15z has a GT 525M GPU. It seems to play BFBC2 decently on medium settings so I suspect BF3 would run in low to medium settings on your laptop. http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-...M.43889.0.html

Got onto a server that started with only 1 player and practiced some flying.. I find the choppers a bit easier actually, the planes just feel weird, the speed bleeds off turning so fast and as soon as you hit 120 or so then you can't control anything till you speed up again.

Flying around is ok, but trying to fight anything seems impossible, either I'm going so fast I can't even aim, or so slow I can't control my airplane.

Choppers I can get around better and even aim and hit stuff.

planes take some practice, and you really can't do much against ground targets with the regular jets until you unlock the rocket pods. now with the Hornet if i line up a tank and unload the rockets and then switch to guns, i can disable him in one swoop. if i use that same trick with an A-10 i can blow the tank up on a perfect run. the key though for both jets and helicopters is to spam your spot button. the range that it lets you spot in the air is huge, so just by sweeping my crosshair against the area of a flag while spamming spot i can reveal several infantry and any armor in the area. once learning that trick i've even been able to start taking out soldiers on foot with the jets

I'll have to bind a spot button on my joystick.

I've been thinking about getting a flight stick to help with the flying. Just when I thought I was getting the hang of flying around - I had to engage another chopper and just like that I was ashes.

can't go wrong for $30. and it's not like BF3 is a flight sim, so you don't need twist or any other fancy features from the more expensive ones. i like that the base is small so it sits nicely beside my mouse. i would recommend getting some of that sticky puddy stuff though that you can hang pictures on walls with, as it's very light and you'll likely have a hard time with it moving around if it's not secured to your desk
