If that is what you think I meant is the problem then perhaps it is not my head that needs shaking.

I agree. The #occupyyyc group would love nothing more than for CPS to drag them out of there kicking and screaming. Nenshi is wise to play a patient game with them.

More wisdom from Captain Oblivious Tawnee7

tawnee7Tawnee S.

The point of #occupycalgary is not to have demands. But to continue waking others up from their slumber. It's too early to have demands

tawnee7Tawnee S.

#occupycalgary might not last forever. But the changing views of calgarians is evident because of the movement

Just to be clear, I support the greater occupy movement, but the Calgary chapter needs to do some member pruning. Yikes. And now I'm going to quote some more of the infamous tawnee7.

Keystone XL pipeline would allow americans to consume 70% more oil. TCPL wants to kill cdn's with 2nd hand smog. #cdnpoli #occupycalgary
What's 2nd hand smog, anyways?

Oh! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help, help, I'm being repressed!

Wow, just for kicks I checked out that tawnee7 broad's twitter, apparently her math needs as much work as her spelling.

Let's see....
Keystone's maximum capacity is going to be 1.1 MMbbl/d
American oil consumption is ~19 MMbbl/d

I think I'll go down and write "1.1/19 = 0.7...apparently" on a tent and claim to be protesting.

4 weeks or so ago when these tents showed up they should have been removed after the second day.

By Nenshi allowing this to go on an on unresolved he has added to this issue. That was completly avoidable.

There have been several protest groups over the years for various worthy and unworthy causes. From the Arian Nations crap to something much more understandable like Human Rights violations in Tibet.

But non of them have set up tents and started squatting.
By Nenshi allowing this to go on he is leaving the city wide open for other future such displays and these clowns are just that a bunch of clowns. Unorganized squatters.

What will happen "if" organized groups pull this crap in the future.

Since Nenshi is relying on like i said before Mother Nature to solve his problem for him. What a cop out.

Nenshi doesn't want to do anything because how it will look on him to see people dragged off in hand cuffs and tents knocked over.
Smiling Nenshi.

I personally hope we have the mildest winter we have had in years and they stay for as long as Nenshi does squat about it.

I want to see other members of other groups move in join organized with a purpose and a agenda and their own funding backing them in their own interests with signs stating them and start camping like the Arian Nation, every Religious Groups, Greenpeace, MADD, PETA, the gay rights community, any group for any cause you can think of just start setting up tents. A perfect storm.

Then watch Nenshi with the media being asked the same questions and Nenshi scratch his smiling face and say there has to be a blizzard sometime.

If the Aryan nations were smart, and they're not, but they would start camping out down there claiming their right to peaceful protest, and then hope that the backlash would be enough that they would be forced out, and be able to claim that their charter rights were broken due to their undesirable position in society.

If they really wanted to start a cmplete sh%% storm, that would be their best move.

This is where you lost me. They would have fought the police and all the other losers that would enjoy fighting "the man" would've come out of the woodwork and made this movement all the bigger and all the dumber (if that's possible).

Nenshi isn't copping out on this; he's playing it smart.

And if it's a mild winter, he'll kick them out. No mayor would let this go on indefinitely. But, this is Calgary and we'll get a cold snap. A lot will leave then, and the ones that don't will be booted. You can quote me on that.

lol yes your probably right. With all the attention on these idiots camping out I still would love to other groups seize the moment of temporary media exposure and join the party. Just to see what Nenshi's next move would be. I want to see him have to make a move.
Its a chess game and he is only playing with dummies and somehow because of his lack of immediate resolve the dummies have, right now anyways the uperhand.

I kind of want to head down there and set up a 1%ers tent.
It'll look pretty much exactly like Tom Haverford's tent from when they went camping.

Complete with DJ Roomba!

I think that would be awesome, drive down in one of those massive two story motor homes and park it. Put out your expensive lawn furniture and sit there sipping a martini all the whole exhorting a butler in a tux to wave his "I am the one percent" sign harder.

Occasionally walk around the camp spot with a wad of cash challenging people to do humiliating tasks for $100.00.

Jeffry, give that man a plunger and get him to plunge our camp toilet,

I love how Nenshi is starting to show he is intolerant of these idiots, now that the 'popular' consensus is that people have had enough.

If the public majority was backing these people , he would be down there camping with them in a purple tent.

He is such a typical slimey politician, what a joke.

. . . So based on the sentiments in this thread lately, when is CP going to organize a mob and go beat them and their tents down with bats and pitchforks?

Don't forget to tweet about it - I'm curious to see how it plays out in 140 characters
