Need a suggestion for a family event
Hey CP brain trust,
My parents are celebrating their 35th anniversary this year and I was hoping to get my sisters and their kids together for something the whole family could do together to celebrate.
I had originally hoped to do one of the behind the scenes programs at the zoo, but that idea fell through because the dates don't work.
Anyone have any suggestions for something like this that we could do.
There would be 8 of us, one of which would be ~10 years old.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Brunch? Doesn't the zoo have some brunch?

Thanks guys.
I already checked the new Science Centre, and they don't really have anything up and running yet.
Flames game or brunch aren't really what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for a cool activity where we get to go do something together, not just eat or watch a game.
Thanks though
I actually started looking at going dog sledding out in Banff, and I'm gonna follow up on that a bit, but keep the suggestions comming please.

I think that the 35th anniversary is the Coral anniversary.
Take them out for a really expensive seafood meal.
Or fly em to seaworld.

Go to a water park, or bowling or backyard wrestling... okay, maybe not the last one.

Nothing like a barbed wire sledgehammer on a pole match with your mom.
I would assume that you have a couple of weeks to build up the feud and sell the PPV rights.
Maybe start slowly where you do a heel turn with your mom where you bash her with a chair and accuse her of playing favorites with your siblings.
Then you can build up with some tag teams with your parents on one side and you on the other, maybe use some kids as evil JR Foley type managers.
Sell the PPV for 19.95 a shot, I mean even if you only get a thousand viewers that would still pay for a nice trip to SeaWorld.
Of course you have to make sure your mom goes over.

What is the budget? The one thing I was thinking is just to get everybody together; including any family that is out of town. Can you afford to fly in your mom's favourite cousin who now lives in Toronto?

Take a motorhome, some tents for younger participants and camp at Fish Creek Park for an indeterminate amount of time.

how about renting a big van and making a trip out to banff - arrange dinner at the rimrock or someplace else nice.

Not sure what type of health everyone's in, but I've always thought going bobsledding at Canada Olympic Park would be a lot of fun.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, but I'm not really looking for dinner suggestions, more interactive activities (stuff like the zoo programs I mentioned and dog sledding).
Bizaro, thanks for that one, but we've actually already done that.
Anywho, I think I'm gonna see what I can do about dogsledding.
Thanks everyone.

What about a sled trip that involves motors? I've heard those can be a ton of fun.
