Good god those black helmets the Stamps use are just awful. Just absolutely horrible. Dispose, immediately.

In fact drop black altogether, go retro and just use red & white.

This is excellent news. The front office is still a bit of a headache but Miller needed to leave the org completely.

I think Taman will be next and Hopson will be lucky to keep his job. I really hope the Richie Hall for HC rumours are BS though. I just don't think he's got it.

I really wish Tillman didn't have to get all doped up and grind some 16yo though. The Riders organization would be lightyears ahead with him as the GM.

I believe Fantuz is gonna leave, Makowski is retirirng, Simpson is getting older.

Riders need a retool and quick. Rider fans have very quickly went from lovable losers to full on GC or bust expectations (sound familiar Flames fans?). There will be heads rolling if they regress and waste the opportunities given to them. The pressure in that city went from "yay we won a GC" to "if we don't contend for a GC every year the coach/GM/President need to be fired".

Riders dont need a re-tool...they need to start over. Just too many holes in too many spots, Durant is looking done like dinner, losing skill guys in key areas, and a defense that is below average and also aging badly.

I can tell you the cause of most of the problems: Brenden Taman. There is a reason Winnipeg has so little NI talent, he would trade it for 30-35 year old vets on their last legs.

Trading draft picks for Zeke Moreno, Elfrid Payton, etc...

I seriously think this is a huge part of the problem there. High expectations sometimes crumble players/coaches/GMs. Players start fearing failure as opposed to expecting sucess, and coaches and GMs start listening to fans and their fickleness.

I thought I would never see this day and I'm sure most Rider fans felt the same way.

Ken Miller did wonders for the Riders but his time had come. We need new blood, someone without an emotional attachment to the players and who will get rid of the dead weight on the team.

Sears suspended one game. Funny how some of these hits, players were ejected and fined, that's it.

Kevin Glenn

He appealed the suspension, nothing happened.

If they thought Sears could have let up, what about Kuale.

I just follow the Bombers so these were the too I picked up but I am sure there are more.

Here's a good article by Stephen Brunt analyzing the Argos' current predicament.

Quote:
In fact, Toronto at this moment appears unique in North America in the way that its citizens are willfully oblivious to live football in all forms: the local university teams play to crowds of family and friends, the Buffalo Bills in Toronto experiment has disproved the notion that it would require only the NFL imprimatur to attract paying customers, and the Argos have fallen completely off the map. Just try to come up with a theory that explains all of that.

I think the NFL can work in Toronto, they just have to stop triple charging people.

Riders' offense are just awful, awful against the Eskimos tonight. Ray and Bowman are just dissecting the Riders' defense. Come on Riders at least show that you guys still care. Eskimos need to lose tonight in order for the Stamps to have a chance to get in to first place. It is 17-10 Eskimos with seconds to go in the 3rd quarter.

This game is terrible all-around. Such a snoozer.

A potential home playoff game on the line for the Stamps here and I'm having trouble even staying on the channel.

EDIT: Wow, tie game! Now its getting good..

Missed most of the first half because of the Flames, just saw the replay of the Baker/Dinwiddie confrontation. Wow! I don't care how hard he's tearing a strip into you, you don't get physical with your QB, especially by pushing him in the f'n face! That's so bush league. Seriously how was he not benched after that??

Then Dinwiddie threw the ball at Baker and Eskimo player intercepted it. How dumb was that? If my receiver threw a punch at me, I would just ignore that a-hole all game since we are out of the playoff spot anyways. Riders are just plain awful this season.

I wanted to see Baker unload on him and knock him out cold when that happened.

Add Jason Clermont to the list of Riders who is retiring as he wrote after the game tonight on twitter, thanking the Lions and Riders for career that has fulfilled my childhood dreams.

And one last thing Nickelback is the half-time show at the Grey Cup this year.

Fitting way to end a crappy season, a fumble on the last play. Oh well, there's always next year.

I find it hilarious that Nickelback is the half-time show this year, just because guaranteed everyone is gonna hate the show.
