The Jamie Lee Curtis mother will finally crack and go running into the woods to try and find her daughter, that'll be the last we see of her.

I personally hope her daughter is infected and comes out of the forest and the mom goes to hug her and gets bitten in the neck!

I don't give a #### about any of these characters, the acting is wooden, the leads are terrible and there are only so many times I can make my mind escape from the obvious ways these people get themselves into trouble.
"Oh, we're the last people alive in a zombie apocalypse with nothing but our wits, physical strength and weaponry to help us? Hmm, better go off alone in the woods in the dark...

They're from rural Georgia. The dark woods are not foreign to them, zombies or not. In fact, that's exactly where I would go if there was a zombie apocalypse.

Shane pisses me off...If anything HE was slowing Otis down, since he had the bunged up ankle. Someone needs to teach him a lesson before he loses it and goes postal on the whole group.

Yeah I didn't like it either. If they are going to develop story lines and characters at least do a good job of it.
I'm not sure what the creators of the show are intending but I'm finding myself rooting for the zombies. All the emotional scenes are over-acted and lame, and there's just not a lot of redeeming characteristics that want you seeing more of any of them. They are all annoying. The least annoying person on the show is the guy with the crossbow (the one thats supposed to be the arsehole).

I think that was the whole point of what he did. He did that so he could get away and be the hero to Rick's wife.
There was one point where Shane was going to give up and Otis made him get up and keep going. What better way to escape than to leave something to eat behind.

and just another small note, if you ever in a zombie apocolypse, and you happen to find a place with running water, hot shower etc. don't shave your head above the sink. It'll just clog it up and you'll probably have to go to a Home Depot for parts. Cut you hair outside.

Yo don't be knockin' on mah boy Otis. He was chubby and he shot a kid straight through a deer. These are traits that I envy.

I don't understand the apparent weapons and ammo shortage. There are zombie soldiers everywhere, there should be weapons laying around all over the place.

If you were talking about at the school, maybe the weapons were around a bunch of zombies which could be an issue. Also there is no guarantee that the weapons will work, they could be all gunked up from sitting around and need to be cleaned before they work properly. I wouldn't want to be cleaning a gun while a zombie comes up and eats me.

I dunno. If I was short on weaponry, I think I'd be taking my chances (at least a little bit) going for weaponry just laying around.
At one point, there were literally half a dozen .50 cal machine guns just lying around. I was lamenting the fact that they didn't grab at least one and toss it in the back of one of their trucks on the off chance it worked.

Maybe, but if I had just messed up my ankle and could hardly walk or if I was Otis and helping a guy who could barely walk I think I would be a little busy trying to just get out alive.
Get out alive and you can always come back and loot the guns, the school isn't moving anytime soon.

I do think that they have not been scavenging enough in the series.
The bit on the highway these past couple episodes has been refreshing though.

The only part of the show that really grinds my gears is this whole moody, brooding "I hate life" arch-story with Angela. She survived the zombie apocalypse for crying out loud.

While I agree, unless you have an ammo box kicking around, not worth the struggle. They weigh a lot and having speacilized amunition and are complicated to maintain. That being said, I didn't notice them kicking around in that scene but if one was loaded and in working order, it sure would have made short work of a good chunk of that horde and made for a hell of a good scene!
But ya, all of those soldiers they have seen should all have 9mm handguns at least and all of them would have been carrying the same ammo. Same with their assault rifles.
