Okay draw for Croatia. My checkered favorites should be real motivated after Turkey eliminated them during the knockout stage of Euro 2008 on the penalty kicks. A lot of the same players are on both squads.

It was always going to get three games, and quite frankly, deserves it. It wasnt a bad tackle, he lost the ball and petulantly kicked someone. Its not part of the game, so it was going to be treated harshly.
What does anyone care anyways? Rooney is done scoring for England until World Cup qualifiers. Everyone knows that he scores goals in the lead-up but never in the actual tournament. They shouldnt even bring him.

Anyways, Bosnia are ranked higher than Norway who managed to beat Portugal. I'm waiting to watch Eden Dzeko tear that defence to shreds.

I think a little bet is in order. If Portugal win, your sig for 2 weeks will read, "VANFLAMESFAN knows more about soccer than me" or "Portugal and Ronaldo Rule". And the opposite if Bosnia wins. And it has to be in big text and that has to be the only thing in your sig, you can't hide it amongst your pictures.
What do ya say?

The thing for me is that a little kick like that (and a pathetic acting routine to follow, but that's another issue) gets you three games while a genuinely dangerous tackle that has the ability to end a career often gets you one, if that. It's like if the NHL was handing out 5 game suspensions for a slash to the ankle and 1 game for headshots, it just doesn't make sense to me.

Ireland will be in trouble if they underestimate Estonia.
They held their own in a group that featured Serbia, Slovenia, and Italy. Three teams that qualified for the 2010 World Cup.
They were well organized and played a strong team game in the matches I watched them play against Italy in qualifying.

Wish Croatia had gotten an easier draw, that tie with Turkey is the best of the round for me.
Ireland got a very good draw but like was said above they can't take it likely
Montenegro should be able to get by a Czech team hasn't been good since Nedved retired
go Bosnia!

Hmm...while always up for a bet, the context doesnt work for me. I'm taking massive underdogs that I dont care about in hopes that they'll beat Portugal, a team that I loathe.
While I think that they have a chance, it hardly goes to show that "VANFLAMESFAN knows more about soccer than me"when you're taking a seeded team ranked 5th in the world while I'm saying that they're going to have a hard time beating a team ranked 22nd.
In short, you've got to give me odds.

I completely understand that, it was a total circus and the guy sold it, at the same time Rooney kicked a guy for no reason. One is assault and one is a dangerous tackle.
I completely agree that some of these tackles need to start deserving more severe punishment, these tackles are breaking people's legs, but again, you're comparing two very different types of offences.

Portugal winning of course doesn't prove anything, but I think it would be funny to see that sig anyways. I don't blame you asking for odds, I'd probably do the same.
The only odds I'm going to give up would be a month versus your 2 weeks of punishment. I'm not going to give up any goals. If Bosnia wins, 1 month of Locke's sig of choice for me. If Portugal wins, 2 weeks for Locke.
That's my offer.

More good news for Portugal! Remember that paper-thin defence I keep talking about.....?
Quote:
Portugal defender Jose Bosingwa has said he will retire from international football until current coach Paulo Bento leaves.
(Bosingway says)"I am proud to say that I have a spotless record with the national team, unlike Bento. His behaviour at Euro 2000 left much to be desired.
"It is public knowledge that he always has conflicts with players. He does not have the mental and emotional capacities to lead a group of men and is completely unsuited to lead the national team."

I think the story here is Bento's attitude. The guy seems like a prick. But Portuguese FA Pres says there's nothing wrong in the room. I guess he has to say it.
http://www.goal.com/en/news/1549/res...ithin-portugal
I'm not a huge Bosingwa fan and never was, so I'm too upset over him not getting the call. Their back line is fine when healthy and they're healthy right now. Bruno Alves and Pepe down the middle is fine and Coentrao and Perreria on the sides works as well. When the lost to Denmark and had that scare against Iceland, Coentrao and Pepe were hurt.
Portugal will be in tough in Bosnia tomorrow, so I'm hoping for a draw. A draw with a goal would be unreal though. They beat them 2 years ago during WC playoffs, I don't see why they can't do it again. They are healthy, they should be okay.

Realistically speaking, a healthy and full strength Portugal squad should have little to fear from Bosnia.
That being said, there are definitely some cracks in that armour.

For those interested, Turkey/Croatia on TSN, Bosnia/Portugal on TSN2.
I don't care what anyone says, TSN is the best.
