Before this thread gets locked...I just want to give my thanks and deepest gratitude to the CP Community for changing life as I know it. Who knew that wondering "what's a Wannamaker?" would introduce me to a thread that has truly shown me beyond my imagination what the power, hilarity, and miracle of CP is.
I think in the four years I have been "lurking" unregistered after discovering this site (thanks to the recommendation of a person who I am and will be eternally grateful to), I can only recall being compelled to actually register and post 3 times. All 3 instances have happened in the year of Wannamaker, aka 2011:
1) During the Canucks cup run when I desperately wanted to give my "why I hate the entire Canucks franchise" sermon....but fortunately was unable to (due to closed registration as a consequence of nuckle trolls), as I would have likely landed myself a lifetime suspension with what would have probably ensued;
2) When I wanted to engage calgaryborn in a futile debate about pro-choice/life in the thread about why having a spare tire in your car, is not the same as preparing for the possibility of rape;
AND
3) When Michael Ha made an indirect return to this epic CP thread by trying to sabotage CP's jihadn't through twitter. That was the TSN turning point for me; up until then, I had been happy to lurk away and amuse myself with the unfolding events, but as I caught up on the explosion of pages late into the evening yesterday, I felt in that moment as I read those words, that I was being personally attacked and that I had to take action. Thank you Michael for compelling me to exercise my meaningless democratic right. And for giving me the boot to finally register and come out of the shadows. You taught me that it's never too late to join a righteous fight; even if you're basically the deadbeat father who jumps into the ring after his amazing kid has already pummelled his obnoxious opponent to the ground. I felt pretty good about myself for helping deliver some last inconsequential kicks.
And on that note, I am going to fade back into my familiar shadows, and continue to enjoy the warm comfort, entertainment, useful information, and surreal laughter that this forum, and the people in it, provide me on a daily basis.
THANKS CP. You are the philanthropic comedian billionaire brother I never had.

The voting was for Wannamaker. It disturbs me that someone should feel the need to demand answers beyond that - as if any such answers could possibly exist. It's perverse and offensive.

The consequences of a poor social media strategy were on full display in this, but so to was evidence of the value of war propaganda. Rather amazing display of how making it "us vs. them" rallies the troops.
Part of me wishes that I logged out of CP after making my first post in this thread and went to live under a rock, only to come back 5 days later and discover the sheer legendary antics that followed.
CP has reached new heights in this thread, and although I can't take much credit, it was an honour to be a small part of it.
Such an awesome message board.
Also.... "He's talking about vagina" was the funniest thing I've ever seen, anywhere.
