So what's everyones view on the game? I'm debating on buying it or waiting for FIFA. Perhaps buy both depending how good NHL is... which I'll probably give into temptation one way or another.

I heard hitting/hip checks are messed up, stretch passes from AI is causing some problems. Is the game worth it? Is it a lot different from NHL 11?

Got a free pack of cards in HUT for beating the tournament in the demo and inside of it was Gordie freakin Howe. Too bad the rest of my team is full of AHL and euro scrubs.

Anyone else getting freezing when they try to do the winter classic?

A giant big "meh" from me for the game. Fixed a few things, but no where near how much they needed to. Thankfully I'm still high on Madden 12 so back to that I go for this week.

I'm really looking forward to creating my HUT. I really hope the point distribution is like MUT (Madden Ultimate Team). Even if you lose against an online player you still get roughly 1200-1500 points and a gold deluxe card pack costs 9000 so it's attainable. I remember last year it was super difficult to gather enough points while still having guys under contract.

My friend received an Niemi card and some scrubs. I'm hoping for a good NHL player.

Anyone else bugged by the fact that Bourque is a "legend", but not Orr?

I'm starting to add in more legends. Brodeur, Lanny, Orr, Hasek, Lafleur and Bobby Hull were some of my additions. And removing all these other "legends" like Richards and Green

The legends selection is laughably bad.

Seriously, Luongo? I mean I my bias aside there are many other goalies that deserve it over him.

Does anyone know when the roster update with the updated chl will be in the game?? I ussualy dont start my gm until i have all the prospects in the actual game. Its missing all the ohl draft players this year (domi, subban, nurse etc) and some 2012 draft prospects like grigorenko and maatta

NHL 12 Alternate Jersey Code - TBA

The code has not yet been released, but will be posted here and will be available on http://www.ea.com/nhl when it is announced by EA.

Remember, EA cannot release the code until the NHL says they can. There is currently no set date for when that will be; however, in the last few years, it has traditionally been released sometime in December once all NHL teams have revealed and worn their new uniforms.

just getting into be a gm, and now i can't simulate past a certain day without the game just freezing.

it's a shame that ea NHL sucks now I really hope there's some competition in the genre soon.

they only put in like 9 legends. they just filled out the team with other top current players so that they would have a full roster.

that info is incorrect. thats for the 3rd jerseys. thats not the problem with the jets jerseys. because of the late release, EA had already shipped the game without any sort of jets jersey even programmed into the game. the 3rd jerseys are in the game, just locked. the jets stuff does not exist at all. because of that, it will have to be in a patch. they set it as one of their top priorities. however, they rarely can fix major bugs in the game, so i am not holding my breath.

If last year is any indication, probably sometime in Jan/Feb before you see an official roster release with a full update.

This game is so damn frustrating. Be a Pro is ######ed because you have to pretty much devote 45 minutes to a single game because it has to be 20 minute periods. Also the announcer pronounces my name (Steve) as "Derek" wtf? But the online is the absolute worst part of the game. For starters the line ups, I went to play as the Flames tonight and I didn't even have the option of playing Backlund, Morrison, or Babchuk, again wtf? Then once you're actually playing the game, the game speed is so slow it looks and feels like you're controlling a team of 6 foot tall tyke players. The players are physically unable to shoot the puck harder than 50 km/h. And of course the worst part is when you inevitably get paired with some doosh who insists on watching every replay, cutscene, opening scene etc.

I'm currently of the opinion that the game's not perfect, but I'm enjoying it. I played NHL10 until my fingers hurt and my eyes bled, and the changes from that to this game (I skipped NHL11) are welcome.

Granted that opinion could change if I have any of the freezing issues that others are having, but (knock on wood), it's working fine so far, and I'm having fun.
