I don't understand the OP. How did he not figure out the give and take of the community. I spend more time creeping than I do actually posting, but I have been a member for 3 years, and I would feel a quite apprehensive about requesting a jihad. Did Wannamaker respond to the PM to her on FB, yet?

While the OP to some may be a leach trying to use the CP community his submission is 100x the Wannadogooder's submission and its far more likely that he is a Flames fan than the other and above all else, I support Flames fans.

Two weeks ago I was in Disneyworld with my mom. She's a huge American Idol fan. So we ended up going to the American Idol Experience at MGM Studios. Same idea as the show. There's 5 rounds of prelims with 3 singers. Top one advances to the final show of the day. We just happened to be at the last show of the day because that's where it fit in the schedule.

There was one pretty bad contestant, and 2 okay ones. Then there was the fourth contestant. An Israeli girl who was on vacation with her family before she did her stint in the army. Nice back story. She was kind of timid, but warmed up as the song went on. Picked a rather challenging R&B song. Absolutely killed it. Had a better voice than probably half of the females out there today that have a recording contract. Did just a phenomenal job of a very difficult song.

The fifth contestant comes on. Picks a fluff piece from the disco era that needs very little talent to sing. Really works the crowd. And by 'works the crowd' I mean had fantastic boobs and knew it.

The fifth contestant won.

There's a reason that contests such as this coffee cup recycling initiative and bake your way to a new kitchen have a judging panel after you get to a certain point. Allowing the general public to vote does not always allow for the better Wannamaker to win.

I don't think she will win. Voting is just part of it. The judges will realize what's going on and decide on the better product (which one is it? I don't know.... I couldn't make myself sit through a whole video, let alone all of them) and maybe give Wannamaker a runner up prize.

Edit: just re-read your post. So really you're sying AI should be public vote fitsr THEn judging panel?

Also: seriously? I have about as much use for gluing pipe cleaners to my to go cup as putting a to do list on it.

I already get po'ed enough when I drive off with a full cup of coffee on the roof of my car. Now I'm going to lose my Starbucks AND my grocery list.

No, I'm not saying that at all. In the context of AI it makes sense. It's pop music. Let the general public decide, they're buying the cd's afterwards. But quite often it's not the best singer/performer that's taking the grand prize. All I'm saying is that in this case Wannamaker may not have the best idea out of the bunch, but that shouldn't stand in the way of a good jihad.

You can still click vote even if the banner appears saying someone at your location has already voted.
