The game released 2 hours ago for Asia; apparently to activate you need to use an asian proxy/vpn and change your windows time to an asian time zone.

Someone at home should try and confirm for us, as it would mean we could play today instead of waiting until tomorrow

IGN gave Battlefield (PC edition mind you) a 9/10. What is really stupid though is all they do in the article is criticize the single player and lack of game types. I'm sorry, but when MW2 came out and you gave it a 9.5/10 it had 3 game types, Spec Ops, Multiplayer and Single player and that game was a "masterpiece". Here comes BF3 which has basically the same thing and it "lacks game modes".

It is a battlefield game, all that matters is the online; an added 10 hour Single Player campaign and co-op missions is just a bonus. But I digress, game reviews are always bought by publishers and come Nov. I know MW3 is gonna pull in a 9.5 or 10 or some BS.

I know it's meaningless to get upset over it, but people's idiotic takes on journalism annoy me.

Meh. Doesn't matter to me. I already know that Battlefield is the FPS for me.

The game probably would have had higher average scores if they only released the multiplayer and had no plans for a single player campaign. Kinda ridiculous, but meh. It's not like the single player takes away from the multiplayer experience.

The simple answer is that Modern Warfare is just a better game, it will get a 9.5 because its more enjoyable.

Tempted to order it but I want to see some benchmarks in Eyefinity first to see what kind of hardware I will need to run this @ 5760 x 1080 resolution.

If crossfire 5870s or 6950s aren't enough, I may hold out until I get better hardware together.

More enjoyable? Maybe in 2007. I played modern warfare 3 four years ago. Don't see how these little changes keep getting 9 or 9.5s. I quit the game because it was boring as fata doing the same thing over and over.

Modern warfare was the pinnacle of the call of duty franchise and now it's just getting sad how repetitive each game is.

Its the same, I have been playing battlefield 3 since last year at this time they just printed a 2 on the front. They both have there place I would consider MW more arcade shooter and BF more realistic but with realism comes empty map space and tons of sniping.

I really wish they would have spread teh release dates out and I would have bought both but now its MW3 only xbox version.

Sadly, even if the gameplay has not shifted much, so many players will be playing MW3. Everyone I have talked to today has said they are waiting for MW3. I found 1 guy at the office who is getting BF3 tomorrow with me.

I like both of the games for different reasons. Hoping the console versions are okay, as my MacBook can't play this beast.

Had to get a replacement mouse so I haven't played yet, except for the few minutes to confirm that it was working, but looks the same as the beta from what I could see.
