If you don't think we will be back to contender status in the next 2 years you are off your rocker. We finally shed Greg Davis and we will continue to get amazing recruiting classes. Right now we are ranked #1 for 2012. I know you went to OU so you have to act like we won't be good again, but at least I can point to this post to make you look foolish.

You guys have a chance of not even making a bowl game this year. ( see slow clap video)
Oh we can bring up past Championships? I think OU has more than doubled the amount of titles you have down there in the swamp.
|
lol I was talking about that "cry baby" that beat your team for the title not a D*ck measuring contest about titles. I will leave that discussion with you and Alabama fans.
yeah we lost to an unrranked Ole miss that year by one point. Then we went on to tear everyone apart and finished by beating Choklahoma and big game bob in the BCSCG.
But go ahead and make fun of our schedule and furman, I don't think bobby would jump at ours over yours this year, you know playing ballstate is setting the bar for playing cupcakes all of a sudden? Oklahoma wouldn't come to the sec just like fat boy bowden wouldn't because they don't have the manhood to play the schedule that we have to.
Yes you have seven national titles, all of maybe two you were even alive for. It's great talking about tradition but when your main argument at least lets talk about recent football within the last say 40 years or even 50 years. Ask any recruit if they give a crap about those titles in the 50's and even the 70's and they wont care just like most fans around the country other than those who can't get out of the "glory days" of the 50-60's like Bama fans.

Texas will be back, however who are they going to play when OSU, and OU leave for the pac whatever? they have alienated everyone from the big 12 with how greedy they are. they already destroyed one conference (SWC) with their greed. They are going to become the school that plays Baylors, rice, and other crap schools because no one will schedule them to get payback at them for all of their prior transgressions.

UT made some concessions for OU lately. Also, Big 12 is adding West Virginia and TCU and losing Mizzou and A&M. So they are adding 3 BCS victories in the last decade vs. losing 0 BCS victories. I am not a fan of losing A&M but the conference just got better in football.

I'm not sure how WV and TCU > Mizzou & A&M football wise. I expect to see TCU struggle a ton in their first few seasons now that they're in a real conference. Look at Utah. Dominated the Mountain West for years and now are the Pac-12's doormat. WV is a pretty positive add though.

I don't see it either. TCU and WV have both benefited from playing against relatively weak conference opponents for the last few years, neither program is better than those leaving. A few recent BCS wins doesn't make a program.

West Virginia in my opinion is a more solid football program in the last decade than either leaving. West Virginia has shown the weak schedule hasn't defined them with bowl victories over higher ranked Georgia and Oklahoma (not like they beat lesser BCS teams). TCU it's to be determined, but Patterson is one helluva coach and I think he can take advantage of the recruiting boost it will give him. I definitely don't think we are a worse football conference because of it. I am guessing a Louisville invite is coming too as I can't see not adding a team close to WVU. I wonder who #12 will be Cincy or BYU or some other?
Also want to add that every year WVU has played a SEC team in nonconference. LSU last 2 years, Auburn 2 years before that and Miss St before that. So they didn't hide from tough ooc games.

Some early scores: #14 Nebraska rolls over #11 MSU 24-3, UM beat Purdue 36-14,
#10 Arkansas squeaks past Vandy 31-28
#12 VT hanging on late vs Duke (!) 14-10
Columbia is 0-7 after losing to Yale in an Ivy League Blizzard.
Speaking of which, the IU/PSU game in happy valley is being played in a snowstorm
edit: Mizzou gets past TAMU in OT in an SEC west battle...

Let's just say the Big Sky Conference is appropriately named.

god we're terrible...
I'm lol'ing at the gator boards though, everyone is wanting to fire the coaches for having only 71 scholarship players, 18 of the 22 starters are underclassmen and having a hurt QB...
I wasn't thinking a national title by any means but I thought a january bowl game was a reasonable goal. however I think we will be lucky to make it to a bowl.

dont worry , at least you still have Furman remember...
BTW OU completely and utterly embarrassed a BCS top 10 team on the road ( in K-state) today. I think the best thing for OU (and the worst thing for Oklahoma state) was OU getting beat last week. Now the Sooners will be playing with a chip on their shoulder for the rest of the year. Its one thing to have to play the Sooners , its a completely different thing to play a pissed off OU team. Its almost like playing a pissed off Iggy 3 -5 years ago

Good game for OU this weekend. Too bad your RB broke his ankle, I hate to see things like that.
Furman will be the only win left for us this year.

Yeah , I think Whaley is more of a power back .. Personally I like watching Roy finch run more than Whaley. I think it's pretty much 1a vs 1b anyway .

A ton of ppl can eat it.
It happens sooner or later most teams will lose a game. It was either GT or South Carolina that would have given us fits and GT did it. We couldn't stop the run it was embarrassing. BCS bowl game now is in doubt and definatly the severly slim shot at the national championship game is done.
