I didn't mean specifically Hah, I doubt he shows his face around here again, though probably lurking. But a peeved off third party who feels cheated getting stuck in this weird crossfire. Hah kinda did ruin the contest for all involved, lol.

I figure we will see a new poster from the other contenders try to make us feel bad. That they spent a lot of time on their idea and we ruined it.

I don't know about CP ruining an idea here.
This is an online vote. Clearly through this thread it has been disclosed that several other competitors are also using social media to try and increase their votes. Nenshi's facebook being a great example.
Instead, this is an interesting situation from an analytical perspective about the counter effects of social media, or the effects of a poor social media policy. The original poster had an ill concieved social media plan and is seeing the consequences of it. I'm guessing he thought that the downside would be that no one would vote for his idea. Instead, he sees the consequence as putting him further behind than had he not made the effort.
I think there are lessons to be learned here and perhaps the OP should write an essay on it for extra credit. I'm sure CP would be happy to offer quotes and comments for the paper.

I believe the response was flippant, facetious. IE, they will claim we are ruining it, but are we really? Do we really think we are? Does it really matter at the end of the day?

We are not ruining the contest, we are just voting for the idea we like the best. Now its a major coincidence that we all like the same idea.

How?
To be honest I think that if this project did indeed have marketing component, which I believe it did, then we didn't ruin it. If you look at the wording on the site itself it encouraged people to spread the word and get their friends and family to vote for it.
We've seen evidence that these people flocking out to the social media to gain votes.
So Michael Ha followed the spirit of this assignment.
Where he failed is he acted like a really terrible telemarker, its great that he picked a website (CalgaryPuck with a large mass of potential voters. But like Al Gore he completely failed to comprehend that to get votes you need to sell your idea and why you should vote for it.
Instead he posted a nondescript please vote for me. There was no FAB on why we should vote for him and support his idea.
So he got a lesson in the real world failures of a badly executed internet marketing scheme and received a lashback from a voter base that gets a little cynical when a person's first post is a cry to action, but there's no intriguing argument about why our action should support him.
If I'm his teacher I fail the lot of them based on their failures in that aspect.
Ha for failing to sell his idea or making it the primary reason for a call to action.
And Wannamaker for failing to take advantage of the negative backlash against her opponent to gain some much needed momentum to really crush him. (Plus her video is at a main level really annoying.)
