I have 8 mutual friends with Vivek Paul and it looks like he posted the contest with a message encouraging people to vote for him on Mayor Nenshi's facebook wall. I would guess this probably led to a large number of the votes he has received. That was on Friday and the message has fallen pretty far down Nenshi's wall so hopefully the votes will slow down a little.
