Spoke to someone at Shaw and your are correct that you can unplug it and move to but you need to move the splitter too. I cannot move to my utility room as I use one of the "old" boxes still.

He suggested I move it to the basement TV that already has a portal installed and this is fine as no one sleeps down there vs our bedroom.

You will see it on your upcoming bill in the near future and we appreciate your patience while we work to get this credit applied for all of our Gateway customers at this time."

Yeah, I got my monthly bill for what is being charged to my credit card and instead of $21 it was $10 something. Sweet...

You need to isolate the Gateway network from the rest of your services or you might experience interference. Essentially, your gateway and all the portals need to be behind that filter and your internet, digital phone before the filter.

drop --> internet/phone --> filter --> portal/players

The filter prevents traffic that the gateway and portals use to communicate with each other from leaking back and interfering with internet and digital phone.

I just found that out as well. I moved a portal from bedroom to basement and gateway couldn't find it when it was after but worked instantly right before.

One thing I am loving is that when you do a title search it even pulls up titles from shaw on demand. I missed a show but sod had it as a freebie so I was able to watch past episodes it was great

SOD is great but you cannot fast forward at all.

I don't mind fast forward cuz I understand free means giving up things. I would like rewind though. If you have to answer the door your screwed

When are these fixes/updates happening? Do I need to do something to have them pushed/dowloaded to my Gateway?

Channels 210 and 213 still don't show a station beside the number. My Centre Ice channels 350 and 352 don't have the Centre Ice logo beside them, and they never show what game is playing. When I'm in BC this is annoying, as I don't know where the Flames game will be on if I want to record it.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, happens when I'm skipping through commercials from time to time. I notice that it takes a few seconds from time to time as well to jump to the next spot and sometimes that message appears. It is annoying.

Is anyone else having some channel issues this morning? I'm off work today and just sat down to watch Sports Centre and my channels are wonky. What should be TSN HD is CTV two and what should be Sportsnet is Global Edmonton. I haven't checked all the other stations, but I was looking forward to some Onrait and O' Toole this morning.

Does the setting you set on each portal stay with the portal or the gateway box? My wife wants to set some parental controls on the tv the kids use. Will those setting stay on that portal only or on the entire system? I am not at home to test it so I thought I would ask here.

I just finished chatting with Shaw because Centre Ice channels 350 and 352 won't show that they are Centre Ice channels and there are no descriptions during the programming. It just gives a generic PPV title. It sucks, since those are the two channels that the Flames play on. There are very few ways to find out what channel they are on and the time block seldom coincides to game times.

Shaw's reaction was that I should be happy that I can record 6 shows at once, even though I've never once needed to do that. My Motorola would have worked fine, I would have been able to record the games as desired and I would have saved the hardware purchase price. Now I get to guess when the game is on and Shaw says oh well, there is nothing we can do. Although I normally defend Shaw, this is unacceptable and rude.

Just had mine installed last week. Overall, it is good but it is definitely glitchy.

The most annoying recent glitch is that I keep getting an error message on my TV that says it does not recognize this resolution setting and to switch to a recognized setting. I have checked the settings a few times for the portal and it is set to 720p for HD and 480i for SD. If I unplug the portal and re-start it, the issue goes away. Had to do that about 5 times last night.

Anyone else have that issue?

Haven't read the entire thread, so sorry if this has been asked already. Does anyone have issues every-so-often with the PVR, where it'll record the first minute or so, then stop recording for no apparent reason? (Usually happens with series recordings while I'm away from the TV).
