The one thing I notice about Canucks fans is the majority of the seem to be members on many sites, and they all know eachother. You constantly read posts like, "oh yeah poster X is bad here, but on sites X, Y and Z he posts in this manner". "Yeah, poster X got banned from site Y, and is on thin ice on sites N and O because he keeps trolling their fanbase X hahaha".

It seems like Oilers fans and Flames fans (and most fans from I've seen) seem to find a good message board and just post there, maybe posting on one other rival site if it's a good place (ie; CP) while it seems pretty standard for Canucks fans to venture out and sign up for every site they can find, as a group, spreading their "knowledge" to the masses.

It think its a symptom of being good. When the Oilers were good, uh decent, I registered on other teams boards, now that they're crap I don't venture out much. Except for you guys here, you're stuck with me.

In fairness, I originally joined in early 2004, but the Oilers were decent back then.

Sure you did.

You're no different than the hundreds of Dys fans last post-season. Shameful.

Hey it's not my fault you actually asked to have your username changed, and I thought it was far easier to just start a new account.

This has pretty much become the only site I post on to talk hockey. I post the odd time on CDC and then hockeybroads, but that's just to discuss our keeper league.

I actually used to play hockey against Canucks4life, so I knew him through that.

How have we been on this version of the message board for TEN years. Unreal that it's been that long.

What is surprising is when a Canucks fan registers and expects to be able to walk into someone else's house and trash talk the place.

I mean I may not like someone and may talk about their questionable parentage among my friends, but if I end up in their house I'm going to be respectful to their mother, and thank them for their hospitality.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work that way, and we STILL get 30-50% of new users registering on this site are Canucks fans, and they're obviously not coming here for the great coverage of the Canucks.
I have to take issue with your point. I find this site more than satisfies my Canucks coverage requirements.

Remember the countdown for Cowperson's 20,000th post? The next person was probably 6000 or 7000 behind him. Now he's not even in the top 5 for total posts. Back then I never thought I'd see the day that somebody would pass him, even if somebody said he would be gone for over a year. This board has changed so much, even thought it's been on this version for that long.

So how long is he on the shelf for?

Oh yeah, and the Edmonton Oilers are not very good at playing hockey.

It won't be long now before someone joins up and you realize you've been posting here longer than he/she has been alive.

Snork!!!!

Considering all incarnations of this message board, if there are any 13 year olds on the boards, that may already be the case!

If you count newsgroups, I've been posting somewhere about the Flames for 16 years!

EDIT: I think I found my first-ever post. http://bit.ly/p3iUk2

I come here cause i used to live in Calgary and am moving back so I like to know what's going on around here and usually try to defend Calgary and Alberta in general as a great place to live and work.
