Good point. I would hope they wouldn't do that. Otherwise, why the hell did I just vote?

I doubt it. Unless the Conservatives screw it up royally, I say they win a majority next time. People were scared of change this time around, next time, when they see the Conservatives doing good things, they won't be as scared.

I suppose that is a possibility...the problem though is that they couldnt push through a single piece of legislation without the support of the Bloc....
That aint happenin as the Liberals were clobbered in Quebec from where they were and the Bloc would be committing suicide trying to support them at this point.
Anyhow...it looks like IF the #'s stay the same, the Torys will bring that Indy in the fold without actually having him cross, appoint a Lib speaker, and they have there voting block if they team with the NDP.
I have to believe that the NDP wants to be important...and that would only work when aligning with the Cons.

Probably the worst possible result for the Conservatives in the long run . . . . . a disastrous and unworkable small minority destined to collapse within six months to a year and Harper leading them into the next election.
This will be the one (1) and only time I'll ever agree with super wingnut Ezra Levant who said the Tories, NDP and everyone else should spend the next six months opening every orifice of the last 13 years and find all the other Liberal scandals buried there.

Tories and Bloc make a coalition. Tories agree to Quebec having more rights if they side with the Cons on everything else.

The NDP campaigned on the idea that the Liberals weren't a party voters could support any longer. There's no way they could partner with them at this point.

Flames win, Conservatives win = a good evening in my books...
Quite suprised and a little dissapointed the Liberals made triple digits. You'd think after running that thing they called an election campaign and insulting the intelligence of Canadians with the "Military/Cities" ad people would be more inclined to take em down a few more pegs. Guess not. Glad to see Alberta is 100% Conservative though.
Still, I'm very happy the Conservatives won even if it is a minority government. Their big job now is to show Canadians that they have no hidden agenda and that a party other than the Liberals can, in fact, run this country effectively. Hoping to see them improve on their 120+ seats come next election.
Wonder how all the Liberal's and their supporters like the sound of "Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his Conservative Government" too

What?? Unless the Conservatives do something incredibly stupid within the next 6 months to a year not one of the other party leaders are going to have the balls to bring down this government.
Very interesting situation now with the Bloc holding the balance of power.

They may not have gotten a lot of seats but I almost think the rest of Canada is trying them on. If they don't do anything they perceive as too Right, then they may just pick up seats next election or if they stumble. Especially if they can pin it on the Libs as to why they're going back again. Funny I thought there'd be a lot of gloating and high fives here and almost everyone is depressed. Funny old game.

I'm glad Sarmite Bulte got booted. I can just imagine her yelling about the stupid fringe free information freaks that got her turfed.

Not so fast.
As the numbers are looking like the Cons and the NDP are at 154...appoint the speaker from the Libs and you have a solid coalition...no?

That radio talk-show guy in Quebec who won the independent seat must be grinning from ear to ear tonight. His vote is going to be very important.

Bring on John Manley, PLEASE. I'll commit to the LPC if they do that.
