Thought the first 25 minutes were extremely entertaining and kept you on the edge of your seat. After that, it kind of tailed off. However, all around it was a great episode. I am excited to see what comes of the group in the upcoming episodes. Do they stick together or do they slowly begin to break off and fend for themselves?
Also, I am still not sure how Carl got shot through that deer, must of been one hell of shot

I thought this show was hit and miss in the first season but I enjoyed the season premiere. Didn't see the ending coming, pretty good way to hook us for the next episode.

Commercials?

Didn't see any.......just kept hitting the little yellow button with the arrow on it, until the show was on again.

The numerous breaks has a lot to do with the beginning. There were zero breaks in the first 25 minutes. Plenty of AMC shows do this to get the person hooked on the episode. The down side is they cram a bunch of shorter breaks in the rest of the episode.

With AMC shows, I just start them half hour late and watch it on PVR. Makes the most sense to me.

I thought it was a great first episode. The first half hour was very well done, the horde moving through, the tension was perfect. After that was slow, and it probably should have been an hour long episode but oh well. I think they tried to flesh out the character more, which was good. The ending was great, totally caught me by surprise, and it set a good tone, no one is safe.

The commercials thing was crazy. 25 minutes no commercials.. awesome!! The last half hour was painful. And yes, I didn't start watching it until ten last night so it was fully recorded on the PVR by that point... but still, painful.

Great episode though. Thought the acting was better then the first sesaon, except for the blonde chick explaining her attempted suicide to the old guy.

Wow you learn so much from this show as well. For instance, I didn't know zombies at woodchucks until last night. *dry heave*

Exactly what I thought as well. Get first 30 minutes or so, then it slowed down a bit. Ending was surprising, but left me wanting more.

Can't wait for next week.

Still can't figure out why they just don't get some newer vehicles.

The zombies sneaking up on them was kind of funny too. The guy on top of the Winnebago didn't notice them? he could see down that road for miles. Reminded me of the Holy Grail when the guy was running across the field to attack the castle while the guards watched him.

Didn't they come out from behind a big truck? That probably would have prevented him from seeing a long distance.

But I do also wonder why they don't swap out for newer cars. There has to be a better RV somewhere that won't blow a radiator hose every trip.

I was surprised at how quick the two zombies were during the chase scene through the woods.

Favorite gory scene was in the Church with the hand tools.
I thought when T Dog was bleeding all over was going to get be a Zombie food.
The worrying mom character was to the point of annoying. I actually ffwd a few of her lines.

Carl getting sniped shocked the heck out of me.
All in all kind of a tame opening episode.
If the story has them travelling away from the zombies it makes me think there will be little amount of scenes that have Zombies in them?

Older vehicles rely less on computers, and are therefore easier to maintain in a post-apocalyptic setting. They don't require a diagnostic computer to sort out troubles. Older vehicles are much easier to jury rig as well...tough to jury rig a fried micro chip on the fly.

I thought about this too, but newer cars are harder to fix. The vehicles they use are pre-computer integration. These days you need to hook a car up to a computer just to do some work you could do by hand before.

I originally wondered why they didn't get a Hummer, and weld a cattle catcher to it. Now that would be sweet.

Ok fair enough, but it's not like there is a lack of vehicles sitting around...Your car dies, jack a new one.

They should ditch that noise machine the red neck is riding around on. I'd be trying to find the quietest vehicle possible.

Better your red neck buddy making all the noise, then you can sneak away!
