Default Reinhart expectations?

Talked to Max Reinhart after he came back on his first trip to Calgary since being sent back to Kootenay about a week ago or so (time flies).

There wasn't a whole lot the team told him in terms of improving upon. The big thing for him was strength, but he also mentioned some off-ice stuff, so I took that as wanting to see more leadership out of him and more commitment in the gym (which would tie to the strength portion of things).

We talked Flames, avoiding the NHL slump and his brothers (Griffin is a projected first rounder in 2012 and Sam looks like he could be a top-10 pick in 2014) among other things.

Here's a clip:

Quote:
“Well I was avoiding it,” he said before being blanked in Calgary. “I’ll have to find a way to not fall into that little slump that everyone goes into every once in a while.”
He has.
While he has been held pointless in two of his five games since returning to help Kootenay defend its WHL title, Reinhart has four goals and six points on the season to lead the Ice.
So what are your expectations for Reinhart this season? He didn't specifically say a goal total he had in mind, but I'm sure he's eyeing at least 45.

Edit: Sorry Mods, thought I was still in the prospects section. Please move as you see fit.

I'd expect Reinhart to be a point-per-game, clutch leadership player. When Kootenay plays well, he (along with their goalie) is the best player on the ice.

100 points and Team Canada. I believe he's capable of both.

I think he has a legit shot at Team Canada with a number of centers looking like they'll stick with their NHL clubs.

Realistically, I think Reinhart could have 40 goals, 85-95 points this season and a Team Canada invite.

The only problem is, he lost his best linemate in Matt Fraser to the Houston Aeros this season.

Let's hope he can get some kind of chemistry with maybe a guy like McKinlay.
