Looks good on that division too, with the countless hours the media spends on documenting the sneezes of the Cowboys, Eagles, and Giants each week (in addition to the Jets and Pats), while also turning thier nose's up at any west coast team (AFC and NFC) and especially over the past seasons.
Also great how the least regarded team in that division (at least this season), the Redskins, are now well ahead of the pack in that division.
Long way to go, and 10-6 likely wins the NFC West, but Seattle and SF have coaches that bring thier own positve, almost laid back, personality to their teams and on the game right now, and their teams are responding, while both are still considered in a re-build stage at this point as well.

Gotta say that win for the pack last night was as satisfying as any regular season game could be.
Losing both starting tackles for the majority of the game, down 14 early, in a pretty hard place to win at the best of times with a very hostile crowd and the smack talk of the Falcons lingering....Rodgers just settled eveything down and went to work. Nevermind the defense figured something out and completely stonewalled ATL after the 1st quarter.
That's 11 straight wins in games that matter for them. Hard to argue against them being the best team in the game right now....though they still have a couple holes to figure out with injury concerns at key spots.

The funny thing is Harbaugh is not coaching in a laid back manner. Each week has seen him going nuts about some calls. The difference is he seems to go bananas then switches it off and forgets about it. You'll see him screaming then 30 seconds later he is calmly calling in plays again.
Alex Smith is an ice man this year. He seems very composed and when he is blitzed he is finding the free man. Since he has become much more proficient teams are not stacking the box near as much and the running game is starting to blossom. And after the first TD pass to Delanie Walker (look it up - it was a thing of beauty) Walker shoved his way out from his teammates who were celebrating so that he could hand the ball to Smith. The offence seems to have total faith in Smith.
And as for some claims that SF ran up the score on the Bucs - the entire 4th quarter was Smith on the bench and Kaepernick getting some game reps. The only down side was Josh Morgan, who has proven to be a very reliable possession receiver, broke his ankle in the final few minutes, although apparently there was no ligament damage so hopefully it won't be a lingering injury.
It has been a long time, I forgot how much fun winning can be.

Don't mean laid back like that, I mean laid back with regards to handling their team. PC does that in Seattle, keeping things loose and positive during the week, and in contrast in watching the SEA game an hearing about Coughlin hammering "Finish Finish Finish" into the Giants everyday since the preseason...that message gets old, quick.

Listening to late hits on the Sirius NFL Channel on Friday evening driving home from work, Gil Brandt mentioned that Alex Smith had the best QB rating against the blitz in the entire NFL.

No doubt when you suffer through some lean years, it is a sweet feeling when your team starts having some success.

Nick Fairley making his NFL debut tonight, interested to see how he looks next to Suh. Pretty pumped to watch Megatron in prime time too, should be a good one.
...and since the game is still on as of 6:30, this is 2 straight weeks where the MNF host city's baseball team is playing in the playoffs at the same time. And that's why Jesus invented PIP.

Wow 3 false start penalties for the Bears on their first series, including back to backs by their LT J'Marcus Webb on 3rd down, c'mon man.
EDIT: Now Detroit's taking penalties like crazy, this is ridiculous. I've literally never seen this many penalties in one quarter before. The final 6min of the 1st quarter took 26 actual mins to play. If the goal of the refs & both teams was to make this game as painful to watch as possible, mission accomplished.

Huge stop by Suh on Forte on 4th down. Can't believe the Bears didn't take points there.

How did the Bears steal the luck of the Pats?
They should be down 40 right now.
Oh well Lione should take it easily in the 2nd half.

Great to see MNF covering Calvillo breaking the pro football passing yards record. But settle down on the French Berman!

For every 1 time that a receiver backtracking results in positive yardage, it fails miserably 99 others. Dumb play from Hester

Awful call leads to an undeserved Lions TD. Hopefully they get a break their way

Because leading with your head hasn't been called all year?
You want to see an awful call look at the bs roughing the passer call when the guy hit Cutler in the shoulders.

It's like I'm watching a CFL game with all these penalties. Is the new CBA that harsh on players that they have to sell cell phones during the day and deliver Pizza's at night to make ends meet like CFL guys do?

These Lions are a fun team to watch. Congrats to all the Lions fans, you deserve a good team after so many bleak years. I hope they make some noise this year.
21-10 Lions.

You actually saw his head leading on that hit?
That was a bodycheck and clearly a shoulder-led hit, both announcers admitted it themselves.
