What car did you learn how to drive on?
I had a neighbour that was into muscle cars at the time and he offered to give me driving lessons. It was 1969 Dodge SuperBee, very similar to the picture below. Was a fun car to drive as it had lots of power under the hood. He was also looking to sell it but I didn't have the cash at the time to buy it

85 VW Jetta. That thing had no power whatsoever. I remember needing to floor it just to get it to move.
I didn't learn manual until I bought my first car, a 2007 Civic SI.

Nice. I would have considered selling my sister into prostitution to raise the extra money to get that car.

1988 Chevy Caprice Wagon
It was known around town by my brothers and I friends as the Ecto 1.
It was a brilliant car. The seats in the back were reversed and were a fine leather.

A three on the tree, slant six 61 Dodge Lancer. Driving lessons were $15. Lots of fun taking my test on the hills of New Westminster. Before that I sometimes uh borrowed my mom's Chev though.

First car I ever drove (in learning) was a 15 passenger Dodge van, but after a few mins I quickly decided that it wasn't for me. The remainder of my learning was on a mid 80's Mazda with a manual choke.

Oh man, love that car too. Had a friend who owned a similar car. Would love to bomb around in that.

Yeah, our family was big on the 323. After we sold our 88, we missed it so much that we bought another used one a few months later. Great little cars.

1983 Porsche 944. Manual transmission, manual steering rack.
15.5 year old pipe-cleaners-for-arms + manual transmission - power steering = interesting results.

^ Talk about a great start to cars though! Is the clutch on those things as heavy as the 911's of the era? Was it floor-mounted?
