Yep, good result but playing like that will get them torched against higher level teams.
On the plus side, I was pretty impressed with David Edgar at RB. He was providing some width going forward and gave the team some more attacking options, not to mention his free kick in the second half.

Great result for Canada. They definitely need to buckle down but getting those three points is all that matters right now.

my sentiments exactly. There were so many chances 10 yrds outside the box that they had but just kept playing it overly safe when it was 1-0 until about 5min left. I was stunned, but glad that they actually finished 3-0.
That mid Dunfield from Toronto FC was playing it so conservative.
The subs turned up the tempo.

I'll agree with this. Klukowski and Dunfield played far too conservative for my liking. They played the same way in the Gold Cup and got burned for it. Hopefully that will change with Hutchinston back in the lineup, as IMO, he's Canada's best player right now.
Also thought that De Rosario had a horrible game.
I also have to credit Puerto Rico for not diving at all during the game! I'll take a boring 3-0 win over the garbage we saw Friday night with St. Lucia.

I was suprised De Roserio had such an ineffective game. He was just off from the beginning. The defenders were more concerned with marking De Guzman. Canada for whatever reason didn't play with much tempo.
At least they got the 3 pts.
I'm still hoping the Blackburn's Jr Hoilett decides to accept the open invitation from the National team to wear the maple leaf! Probably not going to happen this year but what a difference he could make on the right side.

Might as well put it here:
Quote:
The cost of hosting the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is expected to reach £138 billion - with £28 billion alone spent on creating a new city which will host the opening match and the final.
Dr Nicola Ritter, a German legal and financial analyst, told an investors' summit held in Munich that of the £138 billion cost, stadiums and facilities would carry a bill of £107 billion while transport infrastructure would amount to £31 billion.
The cost of air-conditioning 12 stadia will be around £30 billion, with a further £48 billion allocated for training facilities and accommodation for players and fans.

Where to play the Final? We'll just build a whole new City. Why not?

I would estimate that nearly all of it will. It's really incredible that this is being allowed to proceed. At what point does somebody, somewhere, stand up and say 'this is so obviously crooked it needs to be stopped'? These guys are like the Cosa Nostra.

If so then the cost of weasling your team that is unworthy into a world cup is apparently 138Billion with a B.
Talk about a chasm wide of financial disparity Quatar vs 90% of the rest of the world that in no way could afford that ridiculous expense.

FIFA is taking a big gamble. South Africa was so-so. Brazil will probably be ok but not guaranteed. Then Russia and Qatar next.
I know they want to spread futbol around the world but this could kill the World Cup for good.

So Canadian head coach Stephen Hart expressed that he would like to see more fan support during the games, and I think he's spurred on a little meme here.
Quote:
"It's almost like, taste the soup," he said Thursday, when asked about support for the men's national team. "Come out and see what it's about and push the team along. If it's truly something you want to see, your team getting to a World Cup, you could be a big part of that. And you could also have bragging rights to say I was there from the very beginning."
...
Taste the soup is a nice catchphrase.
Now the question is what kind of soup will the fans be tasting? Will it be the wonderfully smooth, satisfying soup where all the flavours blend together? Or will it be a watered-down product in which the taste is difficult to identify?

I think "Taste the Soup" is going to take off among Canadian supporters, and hilariously, here is an article comparing the current men's national team to various flavours of soup. I'm a French Onion fan myself.

The live stream is only a live audio stream. Sportsnet will have highlights of what is a demolishing in progress.
Currently 4-0 for Canada right now. Simeon Jackson has a hat trick and Occean has the 4th. 1st half isn't even done yet. Here's hoping Di Chiara and Morgan get capped in the 2nd half.
