Surprised that a 2013 1st is all it took. Advantage Flyers!

I guess Bobrovsky is still somewhat unproven, but that pick is a looong way away from being useful in the CPHL.

Unless i quit the team and deal everyone away for nothing to make the pick a top 5 one.

I would do that just to make Philly lose the trade. I am spiteful like that.

Obviously this is a win for the Flyers.

If there's anyone else out there who wants to trade a young goalie currently in the AHL for a 2013 first, let me know.

I don't think the deal is that bad, bobs is stuck behind bryz and I'm not sure he even has what it takes to be a number one in the NHL. I know he is young but I think the deal isn't too bad, maybe Philly should have also sent one of their higher second round picks in 2012

Bobrovsky is not going to be a starter in the NHL, if he's a part of the Flyers organization (or at least not for 9 years, lol)

I dont see the Flyers being in a rush to trade him either.

Wont his overall likely go down after this year?

True BUT I guarantee there were teams out there that would have paid more than a 2013 1st. IMO you could have easily gotten a 2012 1st +

For me it's really a backup for this year. Bob's rating will take a hit next year unless he gets moved or Bryz gets hurt.

I honestly thought I made a fair first offer and all it took was couple of PMs to get this done, ask Dave I consulted him before making this offer.

I would not have given up a 1st for him.

I think its not a bad move by Phoenix. Bobrovsky future value is a real question mark - if he ends up being a starter again this deal isn't great, but if he just becomes a back-up long-term he's done very well.

Moving a player now with such a high range of possible future value is sound. I've done the same thing in the past - moving guys I wasn't confident about for solid initial return. In some cases it worked well (e.g. moving Stralman) and other cases less well (e.g. moving Leino).
