Crosby was supposed to be Troi. Sirtis was supposed to be Tasha because Roddenberry envisioned her as sort of like Vasquez from Aliens.

That's why Barclay was my favorite Trek character of all time. He was the most human. Never a super 23/24th century man like every other Starfleet character was. He was a neurotic, nervous, human being with a lot of intelligence and potential but with all the other faults that make us stumble when we are human.

McCoy was always pretty Human too.

Barclay just had Aspergers

And just like most things, Voyager ruined Barclay.

Agreed, one of my favs too.

We all know all the other crewmembers all banged the other characters holographically in secret anyway. Barclay was just the only one who got caught.

Roddenberry and Berman were responsible for the mediocrity of Trek. DS9 escaped that because Berman was too busy making Voyager a POS so Ira Steven Behr had the freedom to make DS9 a darker, serial story show.

Berman was the guy who fired the music composer of TNG after "Best of Both Worlds" because his music (and the music of the other composers in the first 3 seasons) was "too exciting" for Star Trek. He's the reason all the series afterwards only had elevator orchestra music.

Berman also ordered all the cast on Voyager who played human characters to "underact" because he believed that was the only way to make the aliens seem real (whom he ordered to overact). That's why many Voyager characters are wooden and Neelix was as annoying as Jar Jar. That's what the actor who played Harry Kim claims.

TNG. Probably my favorite show as a young kid...

Still love it, and will occasionally watch random episodes. Like today...

Thanks for making me relapse, you f'ers.

Get it over, we all know we got along and liked the same things in secret a long time ago. You both still suck though.

Yes you are right. I concede that I will never match your level of knowledge and personal engagement with Star Trek. You are #1.

1. TNG
2. Voyager - I enjoyed the overall storyline, no hate from me!
3. DS9 - I enjoyed the wormhole, Dominion and some of the Ferengi. But the Grand Negis stories were annoying and I didn't care for the overall religious storyline.

Voyager blew giant Janeway ego sized chunks.

I got the entire series on DVD for Christmas last year. My dad and I have been picking through it all year, fantastic show!

We aren't even half way though, haha. Deep Space Nine for Christmas next year, probably

As with many people here it seems, In The Pale Moonlight is my favourite Star Trek episode in any of the series, and DS9 is by far my favourite Star Trek series. My favourite characters from DS9 (in order): 1. Chief O'Brien, 2. Garak, 3. Sisko.

Another awesome DS9 episode is "For the Uniform" where Sisko tries to track down Michael Eddington, his former security chief turned Maquis leader.

I also love all of the classic TNG episodes but one of my favourite episodes is a little bit out of left field... "Peak Performance" from the 2nd season when the Enterprise is involved in a war games exercise and Riker takes command of the ancient USS Hathaway.

I, in general, do not much like Voyager although I have watched the whole series. The best Voyager episode is the two-part "Year of Hell".

Enterprise was crap.

Wil Wheaton's takes on TNG are fairly amusing and self-deprecating. Worth a read if you have some time.
