Default "The Simpsons" facing cancellation?

Possibly. Over contract negotiations gone bad, it seems.

I know they rake in the cash, but a 45% pay decrease? That's crazy.

Fox, if you didn't waste millions of dollars on Terra Nova, you could keep The Simpsons and I'm pretty sure The Simpsons will make a lot more than Terra Nova which isn't that great.

That would be too bad. Obviously their best days are behind them (and I'm sure numerous snarky comments in this thread will reinforce that), but they were the first and the best.

So many great memories, especially back in the day, when each episode used to have a message or a life lesson, as opposed to the cartoons now a days that just aim to cram as many one liner jokes down your throat as they can in half an hour.

It went off of my must see list about 5 years ago. the show just isn't funny any more and keeps recycling plot lines.

Maybe it dying would be a good thing, and they can take SNL with it.

Could just be part of the negotiations. Playing hardball. It has happened before.

Well, Fox wants a 45% pay decrease, and the cast has offered a 30% cut. 30% is still a pretty big cut, but Fox still isn't happy with it. That's some hard hardball.

The Simpsons were stale a long time ago. Legendary show, but it is time to move on.

Lionel Hutz: This is the greatest case of false advertising I’ve seen since I sued the movie “The Never Ending Story.”

Homer: When I held that gun in my hand, I felt a surge of power…like God must feel when he’s holding a gun

Lionel Hutz: Well, he’s kind of had it in for me ever since I accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace “accidentally” with “repeatedly” and replace “dog” with “son.”

Chief Wiggum: Fat Tony is a cancer on this fair city! He is the cancer and I am the…uh…what cures cancer?

Chief Wiggum: I hope this has taught you kids a lesson: kids never learn

Homer: How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?

It is, and based on this alone, I don't think the show is getting cancelled.

Yeah, I should explain what I meant by saying it would be too bad if they were cancelled. It would have more to do with my favorite animated show ending. Kind of like when you know somone will die of cancer or something, and even though you know it's coming, it still hurts when the day finally arrives.

Did I just compare the Simpsons ending to cancer?

Better than comparing Obama to Hitler. I think. Anyway, I'm no longer singing your song when I log onto CP.

Simpsons is still one of the better shows on TV IMO. People just have higher expectations for it than for other shows.

It just isn't that good anymore. I watched maybe four or five new episodes last year. Also why did they cancel King of the Hill? I seem to be the only person I knew that actually liked that show.

The show is still OK, but it's soul died when Phil Hartman went. Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure FTW.

I like to watch it too. When it comes to the Simpsons, everyone's a hipster. There are so many genuinely terrible shows out there - I don't get why people feel that the Simpsons should go away.

Well that didn't take long.

The Simpsons is still one of the best shows on TV, even if it doesn't live up to its glory days. And Fox, yea, what a bunch of idiots.
