Default No knobs in the US?

Just a bit of a silly observation….. I’m a fan of watching shows like House Hunters, Property Virgins, My First Sale and My First Place on HGTV. I’ve noticed that a lot of the houses they show in the US, even the new builds, don’t have knobs on any of the cabinets in the kitchen or bathrooms. What’s the deal?

Their fat hands have finally become to big to grasp them. now every cabinet comes equiped with a trained monkey to fetch your cheesy puffs for you.

They put all the knobs in the House of Representatives.

They also haven't quite figured out that the hidden hinge exists. They do a lot of cheap applied door cabinetry (usually 80's oak) where the doors/drawers are spaced apart and proud of the frame which makes them easy to open without knobs/handles.

True story:

We went to a restaurant in Washington State and on the main door, above the door knob was a sign. "To open door, turn knob and pull." We couldn't believe that this sign was needed.

"Square" heads are becoming more popular in states.

I probably couldn't have done half my home reno's without my trusty #2 Robertson

No knobs in the US? Funny, I would've thought they were the world leader in knob preponderance.

Saw a sign at a restaurant in Montana near Yellowstone in someones front yard right beside the restaurant "animals and humans please don't urinate on our lawn" Suddenly I felt like going before getting back in to drive again

Just because they aren't in high fashion doesn't mean they don't exist.
