Tampa is the home of NY spring training and minor league team. The area is more pro Yankee than rays. The boss lived there, he has done numerous things in the area for youth baseball and they follow the yanks.

George was on a drive one time and it was raining and came across a baseball diamond that the game was rained out and he called in a construction company to have the field redone with drains and new infield so the kids can play ball. Love him or hate him, he loved baseball and did well for the youth. Hal went to UF too.

I don't know, it looks like the ball kind of dies and if he didn't get a great read off of it initially that's going to be a tough play. It's pretty easy to sit here and say that's an easy play and he just wasn't trying, but I don't think that's even close to the case.

I thought the throw, the lob back into the infield was much worse than the effort to catch it. Just awful all-around.

If anything Crawford is going to be remembered for what was an all around poor season. That was just a fitting end for a guy who came to the Red Sox with big expectations, not being able to make a big play in a big moment after he didn't deliver anything close to what was expected of him all season. He's got a lot of years to erase those memories left, but as of today, the first year of that contract is a complete disaster. Should he win a World Series MVP from now, I'm sure all would be forgiven.

Is he planning to retire? Otherwise he has a number of seasons in which to do that.

For one he plays in a city where the ball park would have been SOLD OUT on the final day of the season for a win and you at least get a one day playoff. As opposed to some down trodden market, where hardly anyone has a disposable dollar of income or credit to their name.

Is someone upset that they didn't make the playoffs? It is hard to get fans to a ball game if they can't make it to the stadium before the game starts! We keep coming back to this. The rays have some of the highest TV and Radio ratings per market.

We get it the Rays don't have fans the Rays are poor the Rays can't get free agents.

The Rays have the best pitching staff in the AL. The Rays have fans they just can't go to the games since stadium location is bad. The Rays have the best manager and gm in baseball. The rays still have prospects to come.

So stop complaining that a team with no fans made it into the post season, since they are a good team! And will continue to be a good team in the future.

**To add Crawford is a bum. He sold out for money and went to Boston instead of going to the Angels like he should have. He deserves to not win***

They're a good team in a trash market. The fans sure got to that bad stadium location when the team had to give away 20000 free tickets last year. The place was half empty because most of the ticket buyers left when their team was up 7-0

Just watch Alds will sell out. Tickets on sale Friday incase anyone wants to make the trip. Monday might be tough sellout with the Bucc's playing monday night as well but I think we can do it!

And that proves what? That fans will show up for playoff games? If anything that proves how garbage the market is, fans can get there for playoff games but not regular season games? Does the causeway only open in October?

No, what would prove they have fans is people showing up to regular season games. Showing up to playoff games doesn't prove anything. Lots of people will go to a playoff game, it's the most exciting time of the year. No team in the league has an issue with people showing up to playoff games.

It is a terrible market with a terrible venue. Period.

Does it still count if half the people are Rangers fans?

Have you ever been to tropicana field? It really is not that bad of a venue. It puts the saddledome to shame that is for sure. It is nowhere near quality like any of the newer ball parks but it isn't that bad.

You keep bringing up that the team can't get fans to games until the playoffs and yet you are a flames fan! Everyone gave up on this team until they made a playoff run. In hockey that playoff run lasts significantly longer then baseball and can draw more fans in. Plus we have disposable income here. It is a tough times in Florida.

The Marlins had an issue with fans going to playoff games when they won it all as well. Florida is a weird sports market. That may change with their fancy new ball park and hopefully it does because it would give Rays owners more knowledge on what to expect if they can get a new park done.

All I know is that Tampa's good team is wasted on that fan base. You should be all for them relocating, so you can cheer for them in a city that gives a crap.
