I laughed when Ted tripped into the island. Caught off guard by the suddenness of the whole situation. I'd be shocked if Ted was not dead.

Didn't really surprise me all that much, because they showed him tripping on the carpet earlier in the episode. I figured they wouldn't show that if it wasn't gonna work itself into the plot somehow.
The only reason I question whether he's dead is because they seemed to go out of their way to not specifically mention his status.

I'm sure it will tee people off but personally I'm starting to get fed up with the whole thing, it has become complicated for the sake of complication, prefered it when it was relatively ordinary and the plot was basically the development of the relationship between Jesse and Walt.

That final scene was fantastic television. I just loved the camera zooming out on Walt as he was lying under the house. Made you feel that Walt is a dead man laying in his coffin. I hope that this is the writers telling us that the good school teaching Walter White is "dead" and 'Heizenberg' is here for good!

Given the dark nature of the show, I'd bet you anything that Ted is paralysed or incapacitated in some way that would require permanent care.

Does anyone else think that there is a behind the scenes plot where Jesse and Mike are actually planning the get rid of Gus and in order to make it believable, they had to keep Walt in the dark to make the rift between Jesse and Walt realistic?
It would be perfect. Let Gus take out the cartel, then get rid of Gus and take over the whole operation. Of course now with Mike incapacitated, they would have to put the plan on hold.

What would be Mike's motivation to do that? Seems pretty implausible consider how important Gus is to the meth trade right now. I don't think that someone like Jesse/Walt/Mike is capable of replacing him.

Mike could be motivated by the fact that Gus slaughtered his old partner right in front of him. He exposed himself as a maniac that could kill any of them on a whim.

Well, when Walt made that exact same argument, he didn't exactly go for it. My guess is, whatever ends up happening, no one will have been able to predict it. That's what I love about this show.

I agree, I think Ted is destined for a wheelchair ... and there will be some blackmail involved.
I have to add that you hear people talk about great acting on television but for the most part it's BS, most TV is bland and obvious. Every now and then you see a movie that really moves you but usually not a TV show. The last part of the last episode was crazy, I could literally feel my stress and anxiety level going up, it was almost uncomfortable to watch. That's amazing TV and goes to show why this series keeps winning awards.

I know what you mean. I found myself sitting right up and leaning forward at the end. I couldn't relax because it was pretty intense. Not too many television programs do that to me... well no others actually.

Felt the same way. I was very uncomfortable and even a little bit anxious. Such an awesome end to the episode. If that was the season finale I might have killed myself waiting all winter for season 5.

Totally irrelevant really but I have to figure this out: How much did Walt say he made? Did a quick scan through the first 4 eps of this season but couldn't find the scene-- with Skyler and Walt discussing this. Just trying to figure out how much he's made so far. I guess he's only been working a few months in TV time and they did buy the car wash...

Trying to work out why he's out of money? I was wondering the same thing.
800K for the car wash, 650K to Ted, 50K on blowing up a Charger, that's 1.5M. Plus they probably spent a couple hundred thousand on Hank's medical bills, physiotherapist, etc.
I think he was being paid 10M/year, so it still seems to me that he should have some money left. The only other thing I could think of is that a lot of it is tied up in the carwash being laundered.

I'm pretty sure it's just over $7 million. Why? Thinking of starting your own business?

I thought Gus paid him 3 million for 3 months of work.

He was getting paid in installments every couple of weeks or something, I believe was stated when he brought a bag home one day for Skyler (Problem Dog?) so he doesn't have the entire $7.5M available.
Also don't forget Saul's lawyer fees are probably pretty high.

I think Gus is pretty sloppy for not helping Walt launder the money. I mean if Walt screws up with the money then it will all come back to Gus eventually. Gus is bad ass though so I will let this slip up slide.
